  1. Ya, these spring concepts are so foreign to me, I’m used to just using stuff, not pondering how it works. Got it almost thin enough to river/ bolt in
  2. So. No one ready to split cost? I assume this concept has occurred to the gun forum public. Refundable fee, let folks “rent” an upper? i would like to see some internal pics but doesn’t seem that anyone has one..
  3. just do something!!! anything! as solomon said, eat drink and be merry! dont worry about folks stealing your ideas etc, jsut DO IT! like shea lebouf says or whatever!
  4. But if the supremes say “strict scrutiny “ on anything gun related will that help??
  5. So why is the russki fixed and folders at that less than ideal angle? Im debating de riveting this fixed folder trunnion but it’s my only “stock “ configuration v12. I guess I could always get another... good news, tristar warranting that carrier. Sent gun off on Tuesday. Hopefully their gunsmiths will treat me right
  6. Now just gotta work on springs and buffers. And choosing a vepr or saiga to put it on
  7. someone musta been pretty drunk that day! if legit of course...
  8. it never occurred to me how thin that area may be, until i saw these voids. positive note is that they gonna warranty it, even though i been working on it... its kind of a big, main component, and if it shattered and blew shrapnel all over, i suppose they would have potential liability on their hands... as far as technique goes, i shall try that in the future, that stock wasnt actually mounted to trunnion at all. and the angle of it is kinda wrong.
  9. Gunfun, You are a lawyer right? Interesting points you bring up, except I have t read everything cause I haven’t gone to the patent links. The legalese makes my head hurt
  10. Oh ya I’m totally skipping the semi version. A fraction of the fun for 5x the price?! No thanks!!
  11. Well if you talking Newton’s cradle wouldn’t ya want them to both be free so the force to start from rest to moving would eat up some recoil energy? And more of those the merrier, to eat up more energy?
  12. Gonna try my hand at building new trunnion with ar tube threads and have long spring going the length of it. Or that’s my plan at least at the moment
  13. loooolz, something about kitchen wizards?? i took some off from the green area, by off, i mean i smoothed the top and bottom side a bit, as well as that lower slot ( is that for machining purposes, or what is its function?). runs better now.... been 25rds of universal without a failure... notta lot i know, but i think i gotta send it in as the bolt carrier has daylight showing through the recoil spring tunnel. whoooops!
  14. Focus is a hard part for me too. Haha. Wife got me an add book that I still haven’t read. I feel that sko-12 design is almost good. Except it has the welded barrel lug. Maybe that’s not such a big deal I dunno. And the magwell is too small to run saiga or vepr style mags. sure is lotta options coming out - cr12 from Wilkinson tactical - ria Turkish improted vr80 -genesis 12 -tavor Life is just so full of trade offs. fallen world etc
  15. also, wonder what a SOT guy could do with one of these and an open bolt? i would volunteer my tristar if evl wanted to play, hahah
  16. https://4range.com/product/dissident-arms-vepr-12-competition-guide-rod-16188.html theres one from dissident but i dont think its for recoil control im not a pussy, i just feel why have recoil if you dont need to right???
  17. https://dpmsystems.com/molot-12-gauge-shotgun that's an aftermarket design, is that what you’re saying? I googled “molot kinetic recoils reduction system” and that’s what it came up with. You posted something along those lines back in 2012
  18. i just wanna get on that low recoil band wagon! obiously opemn bolt outta the equation, but could a semi auto gun be engineered todo the same type of thing? 3k (or even higher, thought was $4500) for a semi version of the AA is silly. kinda like how that JTS-12 ak has longer receiver, couldnt the long travel be duplicated?
  19. What was your fix? I’m not fully following. Fingers type faster than brain haha So did some work on it yesterday... when I was trying to get pictures I had the great idea to turn it over to take picture. It’s deforming on the extractor groove, aaaaaaand the lower 5-7 o’clock groove. So never would have thought of that if evl hadn’t asked for pics. So, thanks! Now I just need to get itsmoothed enough to be 99-100%. If that’s even possible Well shoot looking at pics it’s not the grooves it’s the chamber lip. I gotta resize pics n post standby
  20. i found an old post from md talking about how to file on the groove a bit, but i smoothed it out a bit and still getting issues... any thoughts? too thick of a shell rim on the barrel? wrong angles on the extractor and barrrel groove? magazine follower angle wrong? mag catch face too low?
  21. i donlt like the sand papery feel to the andersons.... at least thats my current memory of them... i dont have a decent ffl locally that makes those cheap ones worth it to stack it deep. ie they charge per lower, not per bg check. lancer (l15) had a cool lower that someone linked on here that i picked up a couple years back. interchangeable mag wells. ambi bolt release or something?
  22. ya, i kinda gave up on 22 after the price hasnt come down... it just seems kinda silly. guess if i was squirrel hunting or something it may not be boring, but it kinda lost its luster for me.... im happy that this is coming out, as i remember being stoked for a conversion for the pmr that they said was coming out.....
