  1. Here is mine: I love the quad rail. Easy install ... rock solid ... highly functional ... strong ... light ... excellent fit and finish ... highly recommended.
  2. Same here and Paulie sent me the guages. They an excellent idea! Excellent polish job Paulie - Thank you! Also, keep in mind that the parts are not just polished ... they are profiled too. Awsome work!!!!! Highly recommended ...
  3. I agree ... minor "tweaking" is acceptable, but if you start grinding metal away and are still having issues, I would also suggest sending it to someone who has worked on hundreds of these things and knows what to look for. I am a nube, but judging by the shell deformation in your pick, it looks to me like the feed ramp is indeed too steep and additional work needs done - hopefully by a pro. To be honest, I was having the same issues with my gun at first, but I found it to be due to my "tweaking" of my 12 round stick mag. I have the JTE magwell on my gun and you have to shave away some o
  4. Well, being that this is my first Saiga, I can only say that I have read that some are reliable out of the box and some are not. Mine was nowhere near reliable, but now it is almost there. I plan on doing a final test soon with the decreased power recoil spring now installed. I anticipate a 100% reliable gun. It sounds like you were fortunate to get a 100%'er out of the box. Good deal for you! Enjoy it.
  5. I have the Chaos Quad- rail. It does eliminate the front sling anchor, but you can pick one up that mounts to the rail for pretty cheap. Picture of mine ...
  6. Update ... the barrel porting is a huge improvement! Prior to porting, the gun failed to eject every one of the Federal Bulk Wally World ammo. After porting the barrel, it failed to eject about 1 of 12 through 140 rounds. I am getting close to a 100%'er. I just received the reduced compression spring from Carolina Shooters today. This should be the last modification needed to get it there. I will be test firing with this spring installed again on Thursday. Another range report to follow tomorrow ...

  8. I have the CAA Rod on mine with the Magpull buttstock and I am extremely happy with them both. They have produced great fit and finish on these parts. One thing to keep in mind is that the CAA aluminum rod will need some material ground off of the bottom of it to clear the rear trigger guard bolt head. This was a simple fix though.
  9. Good luck. I think you will be surprised at how simple it is. I didn't have to use the PB blast, but it is nice to have on hand just in case.
  10. I just went through the port opening also. It was much easier than I anticipated. I have detailed the job here: http://forum.saiga-12.com/index.php?showtopic=62975 I have not shot it yet, but I hope to tonight. I will give a backyard range report once I shoot it.
  11. Well guys, I have been a long time lurker and posted very little. I have however, learned an unbelievable amount of information from the site. Many thanks to those of you responsible for putting this together...you are also the reason that I had to buy one of these beasts. They are an awesome piece of firepower that we need to make sure is available for future sportsmen! Please do what you can to keep the importation alive! Anyway, I ignored the advice and purchased a brand new Saiga 12 with 19" barrel. I proceeded to add as many mandatory conversion parts to the gun as I could, as we
  12. The only unit I can comment on is the Chaos unit with quad rails. I took mine out of the box, removed the rear sight (keep that in mind ... I had no idea I would need to until attempting the installation) and once mounted, it is rock solid and very attactive. Nevermind the functionality of four rails. I really like this assembly. Just my 2 cents.
  13. I went with the Hogue grip also. It is very, very comfortable and if you go with the Carolina Shooters Supply milled Billet trigger guard it turns out rock solid. I cannot comment on the other grips and guards, because I have not tried them, but I am extremely happy with this combination.
