  1. Used my S-12 and S-20 for Pheasant hunting and they worked great. the advantage is the second follow up shot and they are rugged. You won't worry about trudging thru the brush and worry about getting stuff on it because it will shoot regardless. Good luck. there are many people here that will testify to the fact that you will enjoy this gun for whatever you want it for. It will fit that role. nyclu3
  2. Wow guys, what a nice clean build. Love that stock but would not want to change my BRG3 woodie. Makes me want to start building another one. nyclu3
  3. Good to see someone finally addressing the shortage of decent mags for the S-20. I have both the 12 and the 20 and would like to have more goodies for the S-20. Good luck. nyclu3
  4. Keith, If you have any regular AK dust covers handy or can get your hands on one, it is possible to modify them with simple cuts to work with your S-12. I have numerous AKs, an S-20 and an S-12. I cut up a ribbed AK cover to work with my S-20 with a regular AK RSB and FSB. My S-12 I welded an RS onto the stock dust cover and FS on the gas block. I can interchange the dust covers for the shotguns AND the AKs but we all know that the shotguns won't cycle or eject with a regular AK cover so they have to be cut appropriately. Just copy the cut on your existing S-12 cover on a regular AK c
  5. Sorry Mr. Mullet, I was planning on keeping the wood for when I don't hunt with the gun... nyclu3
  6. I agree, it does look great, but I just want a change to its appearance on the range and in the field. I also don't like using such a nice stock in thick bushes. Very handy when I used it pheasant hunting... Thanks for the compliment. I haven't posted this pic in a while. nyclu3
  7. Looking around, is the only solution to ready made the plastic option? BRG3 where are you? nyclu3
  8. Thanks Mr Nailbomb. Already edited my post. nyclu3
  9. Nailbomb, Thanks for the advice. I got the original wood set from BRG3 and I will also look around some more. Will look into other alternatives tomorrow. Good night. nyclu3
  10. OK. Sorry to delete the original post by mistake after posting multiple times. My question was this; Does an original Dragunov stock fit the standard S-12 receiver without modifications? If not, is there a manufacturer that makes one with the grip section having a contour more like an AR grip? I already sent BRG3 a note as he is the one who fabricated my original stock set. I just want a different look to my piece. I would appreciate any input. Thanks. nyclu3
  11. Hello Mr BRG3. Just want to know if you are still in the woodworking business. I'm thinking of changing the stock set you made for my S-12 a few years ago to a Dragunov style stock. Please contact me if you would be interested in helping me out. Thanks.

  12. Racer, Some quality craftsmanship there! Just curious, how thick was the steel and how did you make such nice cuts, laser cutter? I tried to do this but just kept blowing holes in tin the sheet metal guys use for ductwork on the job. Nice work. nyclu3
  13. Indy, I have used Dinzag's taps and dies. They work very well when used properly. Just contact Dinzag. Good Luck. nyclu3

  15. Congratulations sir on your new AK. Daughters are quite the handful but I'm sure you will be up to the task. nyclu3
  16. I don't know if he is still around but you might want to consider BattleRifleG3's custom wood stocks if you can find him. He will make it to your liking. Just my 2 cents... Cobra's stuff is also top notch and so is Dinzag's. Congrats on the new S-12. Wish I could say the same but been on a mission to build a couple of AR-15s, one in .223 and one in .22lr. After that, both safes are full, might need a third one! Good luck. nyclu3

  18. My ex-in-laws just flew back yesterday from Manila. My ex-brother-in-law has 4 kids and they lost everything but their lives. Relatives are putting them up but it's gonna be a long road to recovery there. My daughter is flying to NY from Norfolk to see them. nyclu3
  19. Cobra, Sorry I haven't talked in a while but been busy fixing computers. I'm glad that your issues haven't spread. Like everyone said, keep your head high and don't sweat the small stuff. Your health is much more important to everyone here. Do what you have to do to stay healthy. nyclu3
  20. Indy, While another S-12 is enticing, my thoughts are that you should squirrel away the money for you and yours because you might need this money soon. Thank you for your generous thoughts. nyclu3
  21. Cobra, my thoughts and prayers are with you and Racegal. Take care of yourself because everything else is secondary to your health... God be with you. nyclu3

  25. It's hard to forget. Looking downtown on 6th ave from midtown there is that empty space... Working in Manhattan, everything seems normal until you catch a glimpse of that empty space in the sky.
