  1. Is your saiga already convertered or is it going to converted? If so do you already have those associated parts?
  2. Depends on how much you're willing to spend and how long you're willing to look for it and the associated parts that may be necessary to complete the install. The Best is going to be difficult to find as it can be very different from person to person. I prefer the SVDS/AK100 folding stock, but this setup is very costly. Are you looking for a stock that is russian or russian design or are you wanting an AR15 type stock?
  3. Run a tromix modified g2 trigger (3 parts: trigger, hammer, & disconnector) a US buttstock, a US pistol grip, and your favorite US hand guard and you're set as far as 922r is concerned. If you like the stock forearm or if money is tight run a CSS performance puck and change the hand guard at a later time. Welcome to the wonderful world of S-12's. Also you might want to take the gas plug off and inspect the amount of gas ports your gun has and the condition of them.
  4. I need 2 front latch kits as well.
  5. I'd wait for jte's new magwell to come out for that, as you would be able to use your drums with it. I'm leaning towards using 8 round SGMs with the SBS. I just want it to be light and compact, with the ability to change mags quickly. Drums are fun and I have other S12s that I can use them in, but I'm somewhat "drummed out". Maybe deep down I'm pissed about the DS mags not coming to market. The quad AK mags haven't either.... neither is good. I believe US Palm is working on quad stacks for the ak47 that were shown at Shot this year.
  6. Have you determined if your rifle will need a bullet guide of the proper shape?
  7. I would be willing to help relieve you of that particular problem . It would be hard on me but I could take one or 5 or all for the team here at saiga-12. Aren't the US folders with a 4.5mm hinge? I know it would be crazy expensive considering you'd have to have both Russian and US stocks but could you change it over using the 5.5mm hinge using the Russian parts on the US stock and be good to go? I don't have mine in hand yet to see if its even possible, just curious.
  8. Well on the rifles the op-rod is the piston where as on the shotgun the puck is the piston. Well crud, looking back at it, I don't think the hd rod counts as a 922r part so we may be out of luck until a new puck comes out. No problem, was just throwing out ideas even though I'm fairly confident you know all of this . Didn't realize that they had to be opened up. That stinks as that throws my plans out for the time being.
  9. EDIT: Assuming current part counts are correct with the iz-433, you have 17 potential parts to take into consideration. The muzzle attachment is the iffy portion on whether or not ATF see's a thread protector as an attachment per say but he's stated he's using a US made attachment. If the 433's op rod is the same as a regular S12 then you could potentially just install a tom cole rod. It's hard right now being the model is new to being imported here. At this point he would have the following imported parts: Receiver barrel mounting block bolt bolt carrier gas piston buttstock m
  10. For some reason I'm drawing a blank when you say tappet? I Know I should know what you're talking about but for the life of me I can't......I hate blond moments. Hopefully I don't make an @s$ out of myself but I would assume (uh-oh) that the parts count is the same between the 433 and 109's as they should be the same with exception to the way the gas is regulated. Sorry on the stock part, I was thinking of the people above who were using poly folders. I knew you were using the SVD stock (read envious). On the AK handguards, are they the same as what fits an AK or are they different so
  11. What trigger, hammer, and disconnector are you using? If these are US parts then with the US mags you are fine as is with the parts you listed above. Since you are using a folding stock, assuming 5.5mm russian stock set, you may have to wait to use russian mags until someone releases a new puck that is US made or if your handguard is foreign (unsure) then maybe find a US made set and replace and you should be good to go with any magazine.
  12. The only thing I've ever been told that circumvents requirements like that, which grain of salt applies here as I've never verified, is that a registered machine gun does not require sbr/sbs papers. Personally I'm sketchy on this as well and wouldn't trust that either. Oh well sorry for the off topic. Back on course. Great job on the -030 everyone. I'm sure I speak for everyone when i say that I'm jealous and admire all of the work and effort that has been put in so far.
  13. I was under the impression that sbs/sbr does not negate 922r requirements/restrictions.
