  1. This is full of FAIL. Why not just fix your gun so it will shoot all ammo? You should have known your wife would get different from what you asked.
  2. I voted polish some and drill some. There are numerous Saiga detailers on here that will do it for you if you can't do it yourself but it is mostly just that that.......detailing. Anyone can do this. Just follow the friction line that is created when cycling and sculpt the material along this line.
  3. Anyone know if those will run in a MD drum?
  4. I know in IN you can own a destructive device but cannot own a SBS..........not sure how it would work here.
  5. As a past owner of NFA items, I will say it is really no big deal. Once its done, its done. I never heard another word about my machine gun until I sold it and that was just re-doing the paperwork to get the new purchaser a stamp, which they do send to you, not the buyer. They don't care what you have as long as you pay the tax. They are simply a bureaucracy, albeit an unneeded, unconstitutional one, that shuffles paper. They will however arrest you if you don't pay the tax and kill you if you resist. I'll register mine and when it is time to sell it, recoup my investment 4 or more fold.
  6. Rate reducers are actually an anti bounce mechanism that is 2 parts with its own spring.
  7. That is not the function of a safety/auto/auto safety sear. An auto sears are in full-auto trigger groups and works as such: Trigger is pulled and held. Gun fires and bold carrier comes back, pushing down the hammer. Disconnector catches hammer. Bolt carrier returns to battery and trips auto sear. Auto sear trips disconnector, releasing the hammer. Process is repeated until trigger is released. Perhaps you where thinking of a rate reducer? There is not a semi-auto on this planet that I know of that would benefit in anyway from having a mechanical rate reducer as part of the action
  8. Hoppes #9 fixes all shotgun barrel streaks.
  9. My gun didn't come with an over travel limiter. I think that was an option along with the flux capacitor and I opted out.
  10. I say say-guh but know it to be sigh-guh. It's like everyone calling sabot deer slugs sab-bats. It's actually say-bo but in Indiana it's become sabbat.
  11. Take the gas block off and drill out the hole that covers the ports. You will see how they drill through the one side under the barrel into the other to drill the gas block hole. If it cycles well now, it will only improve with increased gas flow. While you are at it, open those ports as well It takes about a half hour if that.
  12. No, but I just checked some receipts and I guess I only payed 600 for it. I still got ass raped
  13. I think I would have raised some shit if this had happened to me.
  14. I'd seen them for years and always thought they were junk.......still do. I was on another forum and read about the "study" so I bought one for 700 bucks. I bought a couple drums and converted it with parts from CSS. It's fun to shoot and I may buy another and keep it in imported fashion if they ever are available at a reasonable price again.
  15. Has anyone actually done any work with this equation or is all of the gas bla, blah, blah just speculation? I borrowed this text from another site- http://engineering.wikia.com/wiki/Orifice_equation so it can be deleted if the owners are afraid of copyright shit and such. Gas can be substituted for liquid since they share the same properties in a gas flow example. there is actually a calculator here Orifice if anyone is interested. I may play with it later but I'm going shooting right now. The orifice equation describes the rate of flow of liquid through an orifice. The equatio
  16. I bought 5000 of the 62 grn FMJSCBT last winter when they offered them with free shipping. These bullets are GTG.
  17. I got mine today and ran 50 rounds of Estate 7 1/2 3 DRAM through the gun. 2 MD- 20 drums and a surefire 10. I had 1 failure to feed on round 18 on the second drum. They were both drum dumps as was the magazine. I noticed a "snappier" reaction from the piston and the shells ejected farther than they do with the factory plug. The carrier hit the trunnion with more force as well. The new puck is definitely lighter than the factory puck and is excellent machine work. I believe this product will definitely benefit users who experience short stroking.
  18. I was thinking about this thread while at work today. I hope I didn't come off as sounding too arrogant or condescending towards the Paulmeister, that was not my intention. I would like to make an observation however, and it is in no way directed at anyone in particular, though I have seen examples of it in this thread as well as board-wide. I hear time and again about over gassing and port drilling equaling assured destruction for the gun and eternal damnation for its owner. The reasoning is often explained that the gun was designed with ports of a certain size and that is the last t
  19. I did the math on port area. A three port gun at .096 is ~18.5% more gas than a 4 port gun with .075 ports. 3 ports at .096 = .0217 in^2 area 4 ports at .075 = .0176 in^2 area ~ 18.5 %
  20. Bad combo if you shoot powerful rounds much. Just a suggestion. Do as you will. Just a random voice from the internet world that doesn't know anything about these guns here. Oh yah?..................God speaks? No offense/ disrespect, this may be a new horse....but.....I've been into rodeo's for a long time. These are AK's chambered in 12 gauge and pretty sloppy/junky ones at that. That's why they need so much work. I built AK's before it was cool to do so, when you could get Bulgarian milled receivers for $89 and Polish parts that never looked to have been issued for $12
  21. Because it's Russian and can go five times that long normally???? Oh..............16 boxes of shells is a lot..............must be a Russian thing, but I clean my guns when I get done.
  22. Why wouldn't you clean every 400 rounds anyway? Setting two is where I keep my gun with all loads.
  23. Drill baby drill! 3 ports at .0960 will give you plenty of gas.
