I had the same problem, change the site's format in your user control panel ...
  2. Since this asshole isn't the only one to enjoy the benefit of "Public Records" ... Richard M Hobson Rick Hobson lives at parents house. His email is onward@cableone.net His home number is 208-344-3325 His home file system is http://wildwolves.homeip.net/ Born in 1959, Boise High class of 1978 Clifford Gene & Nora Hobson 1148 Santa Maria Dr Boise, Id 83712 Nora (7/31/1923 - 10/04/2009) Brother's David(1943) & Bob(1947) His work number is 208-429-1697 Western Watershed 1320 West Franklin Street Boise, Idaho westernwatersheds.org Apologies to the mod
  3. I wonder if this guy knows that the wolves brought in from Canada to repopulate were infested with the Echinococcosis granulosus tapeworm which causes Hydatid disease. This disease can be spread fairly easily to deer, elk, bison and black bear populations, among others. The kicker is that the Idaho Department of Fish and Game didn't thoroughly test the imported wolves and failed to give hunters adequate warning that the disease was even here ... The really bullshit part is that now even the natural wolf population in the U.S. is affected by the disease and there's no way to tell without t
  4. I saw that on another forum, it was a double charged reload ...
  5. That ranks right up there with the dumbass that blew his thumb off with the Smith & Wesson ...
  6. Well, at least now the AR guys can play with the big boys ...
  7. Wow, I've never seen anyone bitch before because prices actually came down instead of going up, it's kinda weird ...
  8. I've done it twice, sucks to get it together and then realize it's upside down, LOL ...
  9. I understand the gas system is different, obviously I can't exactly duplicate the real system. Maybe we'll get lucky and Gunfixer or someone else will market a self-regulating gas block that will allow us to better copy the real deal Saiga/Molot designs. Here's the Galil Block ... Here's a photoshop of it cut down for welding ... My thought is to use either a G3 front sight or preferably the Galil block welded to the top of the gas block, I just think the Galil sight may be too tall and until I have a gun here with all the parts all can do is ask questions ...
  10. I stole this pic from the pic thread to better represent the look I'm going for, I'm just not sure what to use on the front sight to achieve this style ...
  11. There's a little tacticool factor involved. I also have a Galil upper front sight base but I think it would be too tall with the screw in post. One of the things that's drawing me to the S-12 is the parts availability now as opposed to a few years ago and that it's something I can work on myself (toy with) to get it the way I like it. After 25 years I'm slightly burned out on the regular AK platform (blasphemy) and I need a spring/summer project to occupy my time while my wife is away for a few months ... Edit to add: I'm not too worried about the shorter sight radius, it's a shotgun so I
  12. If I were to get lucky and acquire a Saiga 12 soon and I were to use Dinzag's rear sight block and a HK front sight on the gas block what are the odds that they would line up correctly or would the front sight be too tall or even too short?
  13. Ammendment to my statement above ... I went by that same shop today and the Saiga 12 I'd seen before was gone. I asked what he could get me one for and was told $600, which in this part of the world isn't out of line. After a little BS'ing with the shop owner I feel much better about doing business with him now ...
  14. If my plan goes well I'd need one in two or three months, that should give you time to perfect it ...
  15. Ahh, so just getting the correct parts in country isn't going to any good anyway because of the machining differances, that sucks. Makes me wonder if Saiga is just getting rid of old stock, maybe one day we'll get lucky and they'll send us the good stuff. Looks like our only hope for the moment is for Gunfixer to market his prototype ...
  16. The gun dealer by my work has one for, get ready for it, $800. I had to leave quick when I saw the price as not to laugh in the guy's face. I know it's the only one in the entire town but get real, they're all over the net for $500ish. I'll buy from the local guy if possible but no way I'm paying $800. In a couple of months when I'm ready to buy I'll see if he'll let it go for $500, plus I'll add in shipping and transfer fee (if I had bought it on the net) just to be fair ...
  17. Sounds like just another shining example of BATFE aggression and intimidation toward law abiding American citizens who choose to excerce their Constitutional Right, with the backing of liberal, politically correct (and woefully clueless as to the law) local law enforcement. Does anyone really expect anything less from the BATFE? The scary part is these assholes "believe" in what they're doing ...
  18. I understand the "sporting" configuration BS. So it's just that Saiga and Molot aren't exporting "sporting" versions with the self-regulating gas system, not that they're prohibited from doing so by U.S. law. I'm pretty sure the first U.S. company to bring a retro-fit self-regulating gas system to market would make a killing, especially if they copy the Russian FS/GB combo. Too bad we can't get an importer to bring the proper parts through Germany or something ...
  19. I'm new to Saiga's but not to the AK platform and I'm wondering, just out of curiosity - If Izhmash and Molot have self-regulating gas systems on the Russian versions of their shotguns, why don't we have them here in the U.S.? Is this a design we can't import here? Is it new technology that we haven't caught up to yet? Is there something in the mechanics of the Russian version Saiga 12 that prohibits it from working with the shotguns that we can import? Isn't a self-regulating gas system something that we could replicate? I'm sure it would take some investment to do it but seems to me with th
  20. I'll take a guess - Robinson Armament M96 Expeditionary Rifle ??? I can't think of anything else it might fit on ...
  21. Stories like this really make me wish I had a machine shop at my disposal, but then again if I did I'd probably never leave it, LOL. A few years ago a guy heavy barreled a SA M-5 and was getting great accuracy with it ...
  22. I sent one to ya'lls email but here's an updated version for your consideration ... Click for full size image ... (Like you guys don't know that, LOL)
  23. Just saw this topic ... It will work with a little minor fitting and as stated you'll need the rear retainer. It works best on milled rifles and works better if the front handguard retainer has the ears like the Bulgarian type. They can also be drilled to fit the cleaning rod but it's kind of a pain ...
  24. GerryV - Thanks, I saw that one ... The link Bridis posted is more what I was looking for, I hadn't seen that one before ...
