  1. Menace I do this same drill but hold the medium size pickle jars as long as possible with my arms extended, helluva workout but it helps you get your breathing and muscle control under stress like you said. probably couldn't talk them into that but some dummy rounds stuck in there mag next time might wake them up. True darth most are not, which is the scary truth, because these are the ones that after 50 rounds at 10 yards looks like a shotgun pattern on paper instead of a handgun, that may be good enough for a ccw class but it is woefully inadequate for the real world to me. pride u
  2. I personally believe that the ccw class here in nc is a freaking joke honestly. The test is to easy and the shooting is to easy anyone can get them. I had my wife put 600 rounds down range in her M&P before taking the class, she does not carry all the time but she is proficient with it so I feel ok when I am away and she is at home, always keep a couple loaded where needed just in case.
  3. No it doesn't, but single stack carry pistols are not synonymous with reliability or shootability in the same regard as subcompact service pistols. I wish we could take a class together but I can keep wishing in one hand and well you get the idea, as P diddy said in get him to the greek, I gotta mind fuck'em, figuratively that is.
  4. I have not given up yet just regrouping efforts I am going to plan a trip back home in the next couple of weekends where we can shoot at our leisure and get them understanding the responsibility involved with the right.
  5. fixed gracias! would be funny if they were then maybe I wouldn't be posting this thread:)
  6. I wonder what it does take to bring one of those bad boys down.
  7. NO NO darth I have seen them shoot and they are what I would call minute of man accurate at 15 yards, more of a pattern than a grouping. I referenced there shooting because it shows the lack of attention to being prepared for the reason you would carry a pistol in the first place, thats why I say I think they could shoot well enough to defend themselves but not so much that they are not going to probably miss a few times unless it is seriously up close and personal, hope it never is but always pray for the best and prepare for the worst. I am right there with you on practice, I have spent
  8. They have been and understand what a malfunction can do because I have induced them myself just to give them an Idea. I know they could kill someone if needed but when your shitting your pants scared like most people in a deadly situation, adrenalin tends to have an effect on accuracy. I wish I could do a range day but they always have more important things to do,so cant help those who dont wanna be helped. Actually had one planned for yesterday but they flaked as usual. And this is supposed to be outdoors at a friends house so a great setting but alas I am going by myself I guess, hell my
  9. I have been into firearms and shooting for a good 4 years now since just before my daughter was born. I have concealed carry and open carry for 3 of those 4 years. I always assumed it is a minimum no matter what if you buy a pistol for your own personal protection especially if your carry it that you run 200 rounds of fmj and 50 rounds of hollowpoints to at least do a minimum reliability test, regardless of caliber or make this is just good common sense to me. My parents had recently gotten there chp's and my dad carries and my mom just started too, albeit with a not broken in kahr PM9 and
  10. The remingto 700 is a good bolt gun, but remember anything purchased by the government is going to be just reliable enough and super cheap, doesn't make it the better choice just more widely used. Honestly the nicest rifles for the money to me are the steyr bolt actions they are superb shooting guns with sturdy bolts, but they are expensive and far outta my league. Megaman I think classic arms has some finnish mosin nagants in, the finnish ones are defintiley the most accurate and coolest in mho. Most of them were rebuilt by companies like tikka and sako some others who are still around to
  11. savage as is probably best bang for the buck out there now, the accu trigger is nice. I had recently thought about buying a 110 in 270 winchester, I mean 400 bucks and you got everything you need.
  12. Good on em, would not hesitate to do the same thing, Beat him unconcious. wink-wink
  13. @ jerry-nope it retains the factory striker spring, it just changes the angle of the sear to give you a much cleaner and a couple of pounds lighter break. the new striker block takes all the grit out which I would say is the biggest improvement. I can shoot my dads stock m&p almost as good but a heck of alot slower because of the 8 pound spongey break and the total lack of reset feel. The tightest group I know of out of a service pistol was 3/4 to 1 inch at 50 yards off a fixed rest from a sig 220 special edition, think it was the 220 elite, but I remember the advert claiming better than
  14. 3" at 100 yards, that's almost impossible for any handgun. Maybe you meant 3" group at 50yards and that would be pushing it. Only high end bullseye pistols can shoot 3" or less at 50yards.sorry meant 25 yards dont know why I put 100, hell 3 inches at 50 is pushing it. Still hitting a man sized target at 100 yards with a service handgun is definitely achievable. that being said a good trigger does help, the apex kit in my M&P 45c has definitely promoted better accuracy in my hands because of the crisp smooth take up and a nice break. The stock trigger on my pistol was less than junk when
  15. I though about one but i am happy with my M&P's but I may pick up a fn in 45 when they come out with one for there striker fired line, I think they only have the fns in 9mm and 40, also why do they not offer a compact line in these is beyond me.
  16. that gun should be capable of 3 inch groups easily st 100 yards, that is as accurate as any other service pistol, so save that money and go buy ammo and practice, thats what I would do.
  17. thats too cool, its definitely ak 47 but bare bones, wonder what the type 1 weighs.
  18. they load 180 gr. and 220 gr. in russian military for suppressors, it is only good to 125 yards or so but because of the b/c it is a devastating round for a supressed rifle with no sound.
  19. I have an 06 f150 stx f150 4x4 ext. cab 6.5 ft. bed, It is the base like yours and it is awesome, no frills just basics so I know nothing will get broken or have to worry about wear and tear seeing as my job requires hauling materials and tools. I did get lucky however and get the 36 gallon tank on mine since it is more a base commercial vehicle, Now my favorite shtf vehicle, What size gas tank is this your truck running, was just curious if dodge goes with larger tanks like fords.
  20. I live in nc too and am looking up a trust, I have gotten prices anywhere from 3500 dollars from some asshole firm here in raleigh and 675 was the lowest out in chapel hill, gotta find someone cheaper that seems expensive.
  21. Anyone got any ideas of skull thickness on a adult male brown bear, I have seen a water buffaloes and I was not very impressed as far as thickness, seems like most handgun rounds could penetrate the skull easy, I know uncle ted took one with a 10mm in some hunting show.
  22. In the words of sean connery " Girl you might be legally retarded!"
  23. with that being said I would carry a howitzer if possible in bear country, maybe and M1 tank.
