I get intricate gunsmithing done at at local gunmakers here in the UK called Elderkins which were established in 1880 so they know a thing or two about the gun game for sure They have 5 full time gunsmiths and a 2 stockmakers on site They did my Miroku MK38 and Beretta 682 forcing cones when I bought them from new from them Made a huge difference in recoil for trap usage Will take the barrel to them tomorrow to have a look at and give me some advice <Link Removed

Will reaming the forcing cones on the chrome barrel cause problems? I assume you would have to strip the chrome, ream the cones then rechrome?

Wont that cause chipping on the joint?

So how do you get round reaming the forcing cone if the barrel is chrome lined?

Didn't think the OEM barrel was chrome plated? I think your getting forcing cone mixed up with choke The forcing cone is the transition between the shell and the barrel The longer the forcing cone the less recoil is felt and the more consistant the patern of shot Just wondered if anyone had done it with a Siaga

Has anyone had there barrel reamed to lengthen the forcing cone? I'm thinking about having it done to the Saiga 12 I've had it dome to my Miroku trap gun for over 15 years now and it does make a difference

I noticed this is one of the mods R&R does I gues by straightening the trigger and bending it forward it gives a better feel Anyone tried it? I guess the only method would involve heating up the trigger and straightening it in a vice Surely the heat would affect the mechanical properties of the steel?

Also is it a mil spec or commercial fitting?

Are the stock adapters made of alloy or steel?

What grade of Tig rod material is best for welding on sights etc?

As above In terms of reliability, feel, build quality, customisation potential I've had a few 10/22's with alot of mods and dont rate them Thinking more along the lines of Colt, H&K, Sig etc
