  1. HB, You discount that some of us believe that in 100,000 years we will be with our Creator in a place where time and space no longer exists because both are creations. Time and space both began at the time of the Big Bang. That can be factually proven because scientists can trace the universe back to a beginning. Something that begins to exist has to have a cause. What caused everything to explode into existence? Don't take the evangelism personally, but I believe I am answering your questions as I believe to be true. If I say in 100,000 years I am going to be with Jesus Christ, why does that
  2. Pooling...As a believer I do know where you are coming from. There is nothing wrong with questioning. God expects it. So no harm no foul. I was even impressed you got OMO's reference. As Christians, many feel we have been beat up and vilified far more than any other religion so some get very upset and defensive. FWIW that is not an attack on OMO either. I understand his frustration as well. But still that is no excuse to belittle someone who is skeptical but asking valid questions, which I believe you are. I will say this, if there is one God, Creator, Omniscient, Omnipresent, and Omnipotent,
  3. Couple of Csspecs Saiga .308 20 rounders. Nice, timely, and well packaged as always.
  4. Yep it looks threaded congratulations. As far as shroud removal, begin with a pipe cutter to get straight lines. Finish with a dremel, and do take it slow, using the shroud thickness at the muzzle as a reference for the depth of cut. One thing I will say is do not expect the shroud to come off easily even after you are fully through it. There is a lot of what appears to be liquid pipe threading compound around the threads. A quick tip to make sure you don't go through too far with the dremel is to place the barrel in a vice and as you think you are getting close use a large pail of channel
  5. (5) tax stamps. Trying to beat the July deadline. (3) Form 1's and (2) Form 4s. And now the wait begins.
  6. A handful from around 09-10 came with factory threaded barrels. His very well may be one of them. +1. Mine was one of them. Normally you can see the start of the threads peaking through if you look closely. Measure back 5/8" from the muzzle, mark a line and use a pipe cutter to cut through the shroud. If you have threads, your done:) . If not you needed to cut back the shroud 5/8" to thread the barrel anyway.
  7. I have enough misery living in the today. I will not torture myself with ifs and when's. Learned to shed that weight just this year and it is.....liberating to say the least!
  8. What else would one expect from a princess who has had Secret Service protection her entire life at tax payer expense? Of course she has no concept of a person's right to protect themselves. We are just the unwashed masses. Typical elitist mentality. A day is coming when enough is enough, and that time would seem to be rapidly approaching.
  9. Very nice! You should be proud of that work! I will look for that set at Midway tonight.
  10. Report it. Plain and simple. You may be saving several lives including your co-workers...and until that time I would cc at work regardless of the rules. My 2 cents FWIW
  11. Thank you for the feedback. I figured I would start off with the single cutters just to see if it was something I wanted or even could do, and then if I like it, I'll invest in some multi rows to be able to do unique patterns. Thanks also for the lighting tip...makes perfect sense. Would love to see some of your work.
  12. I thought the same thing, but it is still pretty cool
  13. I am refinishing a 1978 Remington 1100 stock with the machine "impressed" checkering for a friend of a friend. Once the gloss finish that he wants is applied, it will fill in the impressed checkering, and will look like crap. This led me to do some research on converting impressed checkering to the traditional raised checkering. I could cut it after finishing the stock which would highlight the checkering even more. As intimidating as checkering looks, with the right tools, it looks like it may be tedious but not difficult. I am going to buy a couple of 90 degree single cutters (one push c
  14. Here is some information on the hand guard screw if you need to replace: http://forum.saiga-12.com/index.php?/topic/97218-assistance-request-locate-m5-050-x-12mm-bolt/ If it were me I would drill a hole in the location you want and use a sling stud bolt (not screw). On the inside use one of the flat nuts that com with the magpul rails. Works wonderfully and it will stay low enough to not touch the barrel.
  15. While I understand why many would want to conceal, a standard hand gun can't take a deer or other game at 200 yards, won't defeat body armor, and doesn't have the capacity or barrier penetration that a 5.56 AR or AK does. Remember the Hollywood bank robbery back in the 90's. I would not want to be in the position of trying to defend myself with a handgun while someone is opening up on me with an AK. JMHO and personal preference.
  16. .....or the Cambrian explosion....or the issue with the fossil record...or Hackel's fraud...or Miller's experiment, simulating early Earth's atmosphere, producing cyanide.....or irreducible complexity....yeah belief in evolution takes as much faith as belief in God. There is so much evidence for a Creator, it would take a fool to deny intelligence was behind the creation of this universe, the laws of physics, astronomy, biology, and mankind. They all point back to God. Point is for all those who feel superior latching onto "science" need to do a little more research. If the scientific method
  17. It is standard AKM laminate furniture available from Apex or similar suppliers. Simple material relief at the rear of the hand guard to accommodate the thicker barrel and several coats of Amber shellac with a little RIT red dye mixed in. Sand between coats with a final sand down to 5000 grit sandpaper and wax. Wouldn't fit the S12 without major mods. Um... Nah. Too easy. LOL!
  18. All your guns seem to look pretty darn nice!! An attention to detail kinda guy Yes I am. Sometimes in the case of this wood and learning a new medium, such as shellac, I may strip and redo 2-3 times until I get it right. I am learning from every failure. This was my absolute worst at three attempts before getting what I wanted. The good thing is I can replicate everything I have learned before. I have been a successful chemical Sales Manager for a global company for 22 years. I am starting to look at what it will take to do what I love to do for a living and that is building firearms, e
  19. As much as I love my AK's, it would be an AR hands down (assuming we are talking SHTF, TEOTWAWKI) and I still lived in America. If I were in Europe it would be an AK hands down. All about serviceability and access to spare parts / ammunition in my mind.
  20. +1 Also, I seem to get a little dust in my eyes or something whenever I hear The National Anthem sung this well. This time is no exception. Thanks guys. This is what she wants to do for a living. She is very grounded and doesn't care whether she is famous or not. She just wants to be in music ministry and honor Him who gave her such a wonderful gift to begin with.
  21. Thought I would share a video of my daughter Kayla singing the National Anthem yesterday at the City of Chelsea's 20th Celebration. So proud of this young lady: https://youtu.be/kslwVkubsZQ Sorry, for some reason it is not embedding the video so you will have to click on the link.
  22. That one came out of an spare parts bin that I have collected over the years. IIRC it is an inexpensive TMS mount.
  23. When I saw that pic and you saying I know what's for dinner tonight, I thought is he is pulling another April Fools prank or he is the best chef on the planet to make that thing taste good
