  1. Check out ak-builder. They have the triangle or poly style.
  2. Because it un-castrates the gun! It un-Fudds the gun! It pisses off Diane Feinstein and UpChuck Schumer! It's fun! Because I can!
  3. It is a form of hoarding. I know all about it... This is an old pic of my long guns, which has since changed a bit...
  4. Better have good eye protection...

Piece of History Firearms conversion of RR MG to Tula AKS74U
  7. Yup, I ordered a few from them too. Does a Vepr BHO follower in a modified US mag work? If Legion is OK selling their converted guns with an imported mag, then we should be OK using an imported mag with US floor plate with imported folding stock... it's musical chairs using gun parts!
  8. I see on Dinzag site that the trunion or mounting block might not be considered a part in a shotgun by ATF, for whatever reason. That would bring the parts count to 16, so 6 parts replaced would be needed. I would use a US pistol grip, T/H/S, muzzle brake and floorplate to use factory mags. If the trunion is counted, I would use US mags till the makers increase the number of US made parts. Legion USA is selling the converted guns with factory mags. I wonder which of their parts is US made?
  9. I got mine within the past month, paid $564 plus tax, it has the side mount. The gun was made I think in November 2011.
  10. 433-030 parts after conversion: buttstock pistol grip receiver trigger/hammer/disconnector trunion bolt carrier/bolt/op rod piston barrel foregrip muzzle attachment mag body mag follower mag floorplate Total: by my count that's 17 parts. I think it is 1 more than an AK rifle because of the separate piston and "op rod". I hope the US folks step up and make some parts like a US piston and foregrip for this gun or else it will be hard to use a factory magazine.
  11. Recently it seems ATF says SBR (and by extension, SBS) need to be compliant with 922®, despite letters, one from Owens, in the past saying they need not. Here is a letter saying they do need to comply... what to do?
  12. Are the fore grips that come with the gun US or imported? If we have to get US made, do all US grips fit or do they need modification? Thanks.
  13. It fits. My sample, however, had a canted pic rail, so I sent it back. I like my RS Regulate for 30 mm optics better. YMMV
  14. I am checking with all available sources... no rush, I don't have the gun yet...
  15. I have learned a lot just by reading the various ak forums to assemble 3 guns from parts kits. The side folder conversion will definitely be a step up. Thanks for showing how to DIY....
  16. Heat treat it! The Dremel tool is very useful. It's a rare week I don't use it for something or another. I might try heat treating it. I wonder if the gas stove can heat it that much...
  17. I have not had any luck finding a front latch for the folding butt stock either from Cobra (says he's looking to have some made). There is also a guy on gunbroker selling the standard latch who tells me he might make some in a few weeks. In the meantime I have been in the garage with my Dremel tool and files and I made this... unfortunately it is probably too soft to use. The dimensions are hard to figure from the photos folks have posted because of the perspective and lack of scale.
  18. I keep adding to or changing my gun... I think it is about right. Just waiting on a Bumpski to put on it. Added a front sight post from Rusmilitary.
  19. I checked with Atlantic about one of the 33 Legion guns, all sold out, maybe getting some in 7 to 10 days.
  20. The Saiga-12 only has the front 2 pins. I would remove all of them. The one you have marked as pin 2 looks to be at the same level as pin 3 so it probably cuts into the barrel the same. My pins just popped out with a few gentle taps. I was a bit surprised, because I have not been able to remove any other pins this size on the front sights of my various AKs. They are really squashed in.
  21. The ones Arsenal sells apparently are chrome lined.
  22. Shot some of this in my S12 today, needs all the gas my gun can muster, like Winchester AA or SuperX, feels about the same on the shoulder. Shoots 100% in the factory 5 rounds and AGP mags, measures maybe a hair over 59 mm or 2-5/16". At about 10 yards, 5 of 5 shots were in a 3-1/4" circle. No failures of any kind with the V-plug gas on +. I like it, and it leaves very satisfying holes in Tide jugs... and they jump wayyyy up. Bottom hole on target is from shot cup...
  23. I don't have access to a welder, otherwise I'd fill with weld for the best long term solution. I have used the plastic plugs temporarily, not sure if anything permanent might affect my ability to fit the Fostech Bumpski I have on order. Once I have it in I will decide whether to fill in the holes. (I have to say, the plastic hole plugs look pretty good!) I do have a press and some riveting tools, so for a permanent solution I would lightly countersink the outside, then rivet with the rivet head on the inside and grind the rivet flush, similar to like I did with the 2 holes resulting from the
