  1. Yeah, the charging handle on mine is nice but with the length of my arms, it kinda gets in the way of the typical stance used when using an AFG, but it works pretty well regardless
  2. My handguard came in Monday, and I'm loving it. If anyone was curious, yes it's worth every penny Here's my 1919 thus far (the magpul angled foregrip works wonders): The handguard has a LITTLE side to side wobble, but I'm hoping to get it snug soon. Other than that, very VERY satisfied. I'm also ordering a ToothAndNail armory handguard off CSS because I love how small the handguard is. It seems to fit the hand well.
  3. My handguard came in Monday. I LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT! Hey Jim, is a little side to side wobble normal for these handguards? Its fine if its supposed to be like that, doesnt bother me at all. But if it isnt 'sposed to, I'd want to get on towards fixing it. I tightened the retention nut and everything so maybe I'm supposed to tighten some other things as well?
  4. Thanks for the info How much would it cost for those of us who dont have the time (or most likely patience) to do this ourselves?

Impressive. I hope to get as good as this someday when I have more hobby money
  6. +1 Exactly what i thought as well. Would like to see how it compares to the KSG. Anyone handled AND shot one yet? Most of my sources say its a solid shotgun and works fine, but could use a torture test like the C-SOG did for the KSG
  7. dont get mad brah, just busting your balls a little I'm actually interested in getting a comp too but other things are calling my attention first... like getting my hands on a FB handguard or replacing my daily carry with a custom glockmeister g27. I'd like to know if there really is a noticeable difference. Does it really aid that much to make it worth the cost?
  8. whatever helps you sleep at night
  9. It's the Turks response to KelTecs disappointingly slow production/distribution rates and the market demand for tacticool bullpup shotguns
  10. I think its a mid barrel compensator. Jim was talking about it in the other thread when one user was complaining about his permanently attached muzzle brake
  11. Looks fantastic. You have a lovely looking family and I wish you the best on your products soon to hit the market! Some people would prefer this type of handguard, but how awesome would it be to be able to separately buy the firebird charging handle and combine that with this forend? Dont get me wrong. Jims forend is topnotch quality, especially with that integrated rail. Its just been impossible to get my hands on one lol
  12. Well, shoot. Seeing as how profitable the AR market is, you two should start trying to get AR shotguns out there on the market for production. Thats a toy I'd love to have, especially over the 1919. I understand thats a lot of $$ to invest in to get that project up and running, but have you tried showing off that DPMS or Rock River shotgun at ShotShow?
  13. spoiler alert: he's more ambitious than that Syndicate is (if all goes well) going to make one badass original TRUE AR-style 12 gauge based of the AR-10 design
  14. Roger that. The worker at the ammo counter I spoke to today said not to be too concerned since the mka is rated for magnum loads and the longer shells i was shooting werent magnum, but Im glad everything turned out ok regardless. At least bird shot is cycling a LOT better and I can enjoy some cheap plinking. Just gotta sight in the red dot
  15. It might be just my way of thinking, but this is between Jim and these guys,,,,,,,,,why are you getting in the middle of it? If Jim has something to say, I'm sure he will post up. He did lol Thats why I mentioned it. If this is something between the two of them, then they should start talking via email instead of over a public forum on the internet see: http://forum.saiga-1...9-new-fore-end/ (I posted that comment in THIS thread so toothandnail would be aware of Jim's post) Also, I'm pretty confident that angled cooling slots arent some violation of patent copyright lol. I ju
  16. I mean, I'm 99.99% sure that your forend doesnt violate any FB patents or whatever but just a suggestion to avoid any trouble. If its possible to change the design a little of the cooling slits, why not?
  17. Haven't been on the shotgun side of firearms very long but know a little about AR-15's. No offense man but an angled slot or a forward charging handle aren't exactly new technology. Think about AR forends. How many companys use the exact same round holes, or slots? So does this mean Firebird is a direct knock-off of choate? They offer a forend with angled slot. As far as the forward charging handle goes look at every bull pup rifle out there. Look at the FN SCAR. I thought about ordering from you but I have a buddy that ordered one 2 months ago and still hasn't received it. Personally I don't
  18. You may have to change the style of the cooling slits, I think Jim mentioned about it in the other thread a user made about this forend
  19. Full length top rail... side charging handle coming mid october slim and aesthetically pleasing... all we need is a price quote and you got me 100% I already preordered the FireBird handguards from centerfire but its been over a month late now so I might just cancel my payment and buy this one. Seems promising Here is the FireBird one. Toothandnails looks much slimmer
  20. that....looks...amazing If I ever buy a dedicated red dot for my 1919 (my eotech is sighted in for my AR15 and im gonna keep it that way), Id definitely want a handguard like that.
  21. To be safe, just use 3 inch shells with high velocity dram You guys are prolly right lol. I'll consider myself lucky not to have had one of these: http://youtu.be/meUmkpFIGIw Also, I'm glad I made my hunting "expert" buddy Bob shoot those 25 31/2 birdshot loads that he reccomended himself since he "knew so much" while I loaded the 4 magazines with the high velocity winchester 2 3/4inch shells for me to shoot off. Those 50 ish winchester game loads made my shoulder mush, I cant imagine shooting 25 of those 3 1/2 shells back to back like he did. Then again he is a big boy. I'll just
  22. The paper from RAAC mentioned to break in shotgun with minimum of 1300fps and 3/14 It was typed on a piece of paper that came with my detent spring replacement It literally said that on there. I had to get my friend who hunts a lot with shotguns and heavy hunting loads to doublecheck it to make sure I wasnt going insane, but maybe youre right. He prolly skimmed it, said screw it, and drove me to academy to get those loads To be careful, I only shot a box of 25 of those 3 1/2 inch birdshot 1550fps loads. Then shot a bunch of winchester high velocity 2 3/4 to finish the job. Dangerou
  23. Range report I used 25 Remington high brass high velocity 1550fps steel shot 3 1/2 in shells (had to manually hand feed them and forcefully eject lol) to break the 1919 in a little, then used some 30-50 Winchester high velocity 1400fps 2 3/4 in shells in the magazine to finish the break in. After that (without the gas bushing) had about 70% successful cycle rate with the 1400fps Centurion ammo and the Winchester bulk box 1200fps loads MUCH happier now. I imagine the gas bushing would help a bit for next time. For every magazine, there was a 50% chance of having ZERO malfunctions. W
  24. They finally sent me a replacement spring and its the original style... the screw, spring and detent 3 piece set Which I was happy to have, it was easier to install than the current gen spring detent My safety lever is kinda wonky, but thats expected considering what I did to it haha. Still works. Finally put the 1919 together and I'm gonna buy some hunting loads in the morning and try to break 'er in Unfortunately the guys at RAAC know me by name now :/ They did include an instruction sheet stating to use rounds at least 1300fps and in 3 and 1/4 (or was it 3 and 1/2? I cant r
