  1. Well you can always play with this if your worried about nukes. http://nuclearsecrecy.com/nukemap/classic/
  2. It's worth seeing for sure. I wound up going to Pearl 3x while I was there.
  3. I spent a week and a half there last May. Let me know if you get bored and need some cool things to go see. Go hike the aiea loop trail. There's a wrecked ww2 bomber on the hillside. I found it down in the valley and hiked down to it. Koko Crater is also a very challenging hike that feels almost straight up an old rail road track and ends up at an abandoned radar station that you can find your way inside if you look around and feel adventurous. There's also a public shooting range at the base of it. We all like that. Also, run up to the North shore in Haleiwa. They have a collectio
  4. I thought the purpose of the sear was to keep the juices in the steak while it cooked. Hence sear then bake. I sear on a HOT cast iron skillet 2 min per side then into the oven @400 for 6 minutes. Then it's important to let the steak "rest" for ten minutes covered to allow the juice to spread evenly throughout the meat. My plate is covered in juice when I eat. Wouldn't baking first then searing just give you. Dry piece of meat?
  5. Well I admit I'm a tard, but I try to never go full retard. I only put the same pressure you would apply to hold it while working on it. Y'all scared me enough to throw the bolt in and check though. It slides in/out smoothly. That's what she said. I'll just continue to ignore it as usual. Thanks for the info.
  6. The rear iron sights have always been canted to the left, and I've just lived with it because it shot point of aim and use a Venezuelan PK-A sight most times. I was taking the trigger group out to polish the rails/hammer to smooth out the action, and I noticed the gas tube isn't fully seated and causing my canted sight. I stuck it in a vice and tried to press it in fully, but it didn't seem to budge, and I didn't want to apply any more pressure. I know this has had to come up in the past and this place is fully of knowledge. What's the right way to fix it?
  7. I've bought a few hundred 308, 30-06, and thousands of .40. All rounds I"ve shot have looked good, NOT like that picture. They're also pretty accurate. YMMV I'll continue to buy more
  8. I've got both and like them both, but the AK never fails. As Carnik Con said "This bitch just never jams... It does what I command" I'm still working on issues with my AR. Is it weird that I have an AK in a US round (308) and my AR is in Commie 7.62x39?
  9. x3 I have some Promags that have worked flawless, but they're plastic and once the feed ramp breaks off, well...... Get an all metal one from CSSpecs that will last as long as the rifle.
  10. I went to Pearl Harbor back in May. Of all the things to see and do in Oahu, I wound up going to Pearl 3 times. It was the first attraction I went to and the last one right before getting on the plane to come home. It took a lot not to go punching a few Japaneese pricks that were climbing on stuff and taking "victorious" photos. I spent the rest of my trip walking through groups of Japaneese people splitting them up like they weren't there.
  11. So I went shooting yesterday and broke the hymen It shot pretty soft, but is very LOUD. The only issues I was having, was a FTE(eject) and magazines would bind if loaded to 30rnds. I already ordered the BCG extractor spring upgrade to hopefully fix the ejection issue. Might look into some ejector springs too. I also noticed that the bullets seemed to be tumbling at 25yds. Was shooting 123gr fmj that only measured .309 so that might be the problem. Barrel is 10.5 inch with 1/10 twist and has a big muzzle brake with two small ports on top to go with the large side vents. I didn'
  12. You are wrong. BATFE does not regulate the length of a buffer tube It's all about "intended use" and they have determined that the intended use of SB15 brace is for the user to wrap it around their forearm. If the user chooses to hold it a different way, the intended use does not change. It is still a pistol. There are several opinion letters from BATFE saying that firing a pistol from the shoulder does not change the fact that its a pistol--putting a stock on it does. ???? Wrong about what? Where did I ever say that the BATF regulated the length of a buffer tube? Reading is fu
  13. The SBX brace on my AR pistol feels great against the shoulder, and with the phase 5 hex tube, it extended it out a few more inches. It feels like the middle setting on a rifle stock. That being said, my pistol did wind up being 29.5 inches.
  14. You are correct. The MP5 is tops, plus it's a sear ready gun and if you have ever used one, very light, very handy and scary accurate on semi and FA. I got to shoot a silenced full auto MP5 a few weeks ago. It was tits for sure. I can't watch the video at work so I'm ignorant at the moment. What's everyone getting so excited about?
  15. I used a Hardend Arms upper with their bcg and enhanced firing pin. I don't have a lot of experience in AR's to compare, but it seems nice. Fit with my lower is rock solid tight. The gas block is pinned to the barrel, melonite 10.5 barrel with free float quad rail. They only thing I have to do is widen the M4 feed ramps for the .30 cal bullet.
  16. I think I fixed my light primer strike issue. I took a closer look at the hammer spring, and it was backwards from the supplier. I popped the pin and flipped the spring around, and there is a lot more preload on the hammer now and trigger pull is a little higher but still clean. I also noticed that the M4 feed ramps look like they're for the 556. I need to widen them for the 7.62. I've ported a few sets of heads before, so I should be able to tackle that. I also noticed that on the ASC mags, that while unloading by hand, the rim of the cartridge will snag on some dimples. Need to smooth t
  17. I found an upper for $270 with bcg and a blem lower for $49. Cheap parts kit for $39 and tube/stock. Could build a cheap rifle for sure. The pistol added up quick, but nothing is stock mil spec except the lower parts kit. My ffl said he has a bull barrel rifle upper that I can put on my pistol just to see how bad the balance gets. Thinking of getting a 16" pencil barrel in .556 to have another caliber option just in case. That's if it's not to front heavy.
  18. Thanks! It was my first AR build and my first AR to own. Gotta say, I enjoyed assembling it and it's got me looking at building a rifle lower. It's like Lego Technic for adults. It's the ACT trigger from ALG defense. The trigger has a nickel-boron coating and the hammer has a nickel-teflon coating. It's pretty smooth and crisp. It's a lot better than my MP15-22. I've only tried to fire it once and I got a light primer strike. I got the enhanced firing pin, so I'm thinking a new stronger hammer spring, or maybe a heavier hammer. But then I'd loose the coated hammer that makes the pull n
  19. Well everything but the red dot and iron sights has showed up. Here it is mostly done.
  20. It's not bad looking. The only downside I see is that the proprietary buffer tube is made of 6061. It is a whole lot cheaper than the sbx I just picked up though
  21. Or how 3 people asked how the votes were cast and he had to explain each time their not allowed to ask and grand jury isn't allowed to tell. They kept asking though. That's the problem. The facts are being laid out explaining the evidence, but no one is really listening. People don't care unless it's what they want to hear.
  22. Well that's good news considering I have $1100 worth of AR pistol parts in shipping on their way. FML Although that article was about a short barreled shotgun. Not real sure if it affects ar/ak pistols.
