Gun shop employees
moxie1c replied to Elkhound's topic in General Discussion - Any topic is welcome here!!!
Two stories and three different shops. One shop (Shop A) was the place where I bought a pistol for "work purposes" which requires plenty of night hours. After about a week I decided I made a mistake and should have ordered it with night sights. Going back to the shop I asked the owner, a former police armorer if he could install them for me. His response was, "why do you need night sights?" I told him he must be the wrong man for the job and had the guy (Shop down the street do it. More recently, last friday, I picked up a Smith 442 centennial for a new backup. The shop (Shop C) was v -
Receiver Modification for Buttstock
moxie1c replied to rangerdavid's topic in Saiga Rifle Conversions
After getting the ACE folder I cannot picture going back to a regular stock anytime soon. Regardless, I have seen replacement rear tangs for sale through k-var and others. Looking at the rifle it should be easy enough to replace. -

Smith and Wesson is a picky eater
moxie1c replied to Vultite's topic in Other Weapons - RIFLES (non-AK based)
I have a Smith M&P 40 and on one occasion during my initial break-in of it I bought a box of Wolf to see how it would function...or rather should I say dysfunction. Now that I have over 1,000 rounds through it I plan on grabbing another box of the steel stuff (yeah, I'm a glutton for punishment) to see if it will run flawlessly. -
good price for a 7.62x39 in long island ny?
moxie1c replied to brooklynite's topic in Saiga 7.62 X 39
25 isnt bad but thats on the other side of bear mountain?? $10 just to cross the bridge round trip and $5.50 to cross the Hudson roundtrip... The transfer situation on Long Island really is quite a shame/scam......its cause they know no one wants to leave the island to get a transfer. Its too damn expensive to cross all the bridges. Nice looking out though Taurus. I once got a transfer done at a little shop in the Catskills that was near a place I would camp at. -
Ill tell ya what...that rifle looks sharp. Simple, smooth and everything blends well. Very NICE

I am looking at the Smith and Wesson M&P340. It is a 357 J-Frame and has night sights on it.... Plus, it would compliment my M&P40 fullsize very well.

What's the worst handgun you've ever owned?
moxie1c replied to hkusp45's topic in Other Weapons - HANDGUNS
Worst: Keltec P3at 380. That thing refused to feed any decent defensive rounds. FMJ rounds would usually cycle. Best: Smith and Wesson M&P 40, had it for 14 months now and she has been carried daily and shot often. Best for the money: Hi-point 9mm carbine. Dat gun is the schizzzit it go bop bop ery time i pull da trigga -

moxie1c replied to brooklynite's topic in Saiga 7.62 X 39
If I recall correctly, the going rate for transfers out there on Long Island was around $50.00 for anything that got shipped in!!! $25 for face to face. The transfers and shipping costs were why I bought locally. As a side note, Ive moved from the Island and out of NY since but I hope that you found the above helpful. -

One thing that I can say about T&T is that Marty may be a little rash at times but he does have a good business head on his shoulders and is usually willing to negotiate on price-- With T&T I found it especially helpful if you put an amount of ammo on the counter and say that you want the Saiga for X-dollars like Y-place is selling them for. If he cannot do it politely put the ammo back on the shelf and say you unfortunatly won't be needing it and thank him for his time. Money talks...Cash is King. I got mine from him for under 3 bills and then I had him cut me a break on a Plano h -
Well, pictures are what sell. Ill collect my 10% percent sales-helper commission once you send it off. Nah, I am interested in buying but I am not sure how it will fit in my hand--you know what I am saying? The work looks well done though and I love the trigger undercut. Has the handgrip been stippled or is that one of those slip on texturizers?

That Looks Sharp! Make sure to add it to the "stickied" photo topic.

Well, Ron Paul isn't happy with it... And Im not happy either--I had my one year review at work today and my first raise... 42 cents an hour, whoopie stinking doo. I guess it pays to show initiative, come in early, stay late, be a role model for new employees and be employee of the month...yada yada.

knives
moxie1c replied to terrace_mountain's topic in General Discussion - Any topic is welcome here!!!
I got a Colonial M724 which is a nice little auto-opener at the Army Navy store around here for $40! The M724 is an updated version of the classic Paratrooper switchblade. The Colonial Knife Company M724 is definately a knife worth having. The M724 has a classic sliding safety and lanyard loop for attachment to duty equipment. Each knife incorporates a folding line-cutter blade designed to sever webbing or parachute risers during an emergency situation. The hook design of this blade prevents cutting injuries when webbing or clothing needs to be cut next to skin. The M724 features polym -

Saigaboy didnt write the above, but HELL...doesnt classic understand 922r??? I mean come on you certainly can use foreign wood if the rest of the rifle is made here in the Great States! This article is full of it, and thats all ive got to say. Edit to include: Furthermore, Romania has been a part of the UN since December of 1955!! And, was welcomed into NATO by Bush in November of 2002!
