  1. 2100 grains is closer to 5 ounces...an ounce=437.5 grains.
  2. I attached a rail to the fore end of my S12 to allow mounting the BP-02 up front. It holds its zero just fine, but is a little tricky getting on and off, since the rail is mounted backwards, and the mount has to be adjusted down very snugly to stay in place under recoil. I've shot 1" groups at 30 yards with the set up.
  3. I have a TLR 2 mounted on the factory railed fore end.....
  4. Why didn't you just leave the safety stop in place? I spent 4 hours on my entire conversion, and just used the trigger guard that was on the gun originally.
  5. Sabot slugs need rifling, period. I shot a few Remington Copper Solids through my open choked Saiga, they went into about 9" at 30 yards, two of them hit sideways. Sellior & Bellot, on the other hand, grouped into 1". I'd skip the slugs through a full choke, especially the Brennekes, which are a lot harder than Foster type slugs. Safe or not, a full choke probably won't be as accurate with slugs as a more open choke.
  6. The trick to getting loaded magazines inserted on a closed bolt is getting the front of the mag hooked into the front lip of the mag well, and then just rocking the magazine back. You just need to use some pressure, because you will be mashing the top round up against the bolt. It's not bad once you get the hang of it.
  7. It'd probably work alright, but nylon hole plugs work perfectly and are a much easier solution.
  8. I did my own conversion, and went with the Krebs sight mainly for ease of installation. No regrets at all. The front is elevation adjustable like an AR sight, but came perfectly regulated out of the box. The rear takes a bit of a pounding to get in, but it goes it, and stays where you put it.
  9. Looks like a grenade launcher pad. One place that has 'em is: http://www.fseusa.com/product_info.php?cPa...products_id=339 Bingo. Really an improvement over the tiny little buttplate the stock affords.
  10. Never mind, just saw you have the factory sporter stock. I'm not sure what will slip over them....and maybe darkside does need one. I don't need one, but I have one anyhow.
  11. http://www.kalinkaoptics.com/SearchResult.aspx?CategoryID=39 There's some more mounts and sights. That might even be the place I bought my mount, can't remember.
  12. http://www.tickbitesupply.com/mount.html Scroll down a bit on that page, there's a PSO weaver mount for a good price. I've bought from that guy, good service and fast shipping. Here's the one I have on my Saiga. I had it on the receiver at first, but prefer the sight up front away from my eyes, so I did a little gunsmithing to get what I was after.
  13. I got lucky, and found one last week that was pre-owned, unfired, with the fore end, brake, and sling for $450. A new one at the same shop with no accessories was $495...I've seen them on gunbroker as high as $600.
  14. Hornady Light Magnum 00, 2.75" 8 pellet, from 15 yards. By far my Saiga's favorite shot load so far, though S&B 00 shoots pretty tight most of the time also. I couldn't believe how tight those 7 pellets in the target on the right stayed. These really are choice scatterguns.
  15. Here ya go. Nothing ground breaking, but it works. Binding posts and machine screws. An easy project for anyone that did their own conversion, or really anyone else for that matter. The fore end pictured alone is on ebay right now.
