  1. If you use a pan, just make sure to cut the edges off and you should be fine. If the plate gives, you should be free of ricochets. Be careful.
  2. I'm in. I am soooo glad I picked up an S-12 and came to this forum! Thanks Mike!!
  3. Beware of the edge on round pans!!!!! I had a fried who got tonked in the head when a 9mm round rolled around on the edge of the pan and struck him in the temple at 25 yards. 12 gauges are more powerful, but be careful and think about what you are doing.
  4. You can make something similar with regular bird shot. Open shot shell. Remove shot. Add 1/2 teaspoon of melted wax(binding agent) into the shot cup. Add shot back into shot shell. Clean up over flow. Recrimp using a crimper or packing it back down the best you can with the tools available. Make sure outside of shell is clean. *Plaster also works well as a binding agent. Exactly the direction I'm going. Buckshot, while effective, will zip through interior walls. Slugs, also very effective, would be a danger to even my neighbors. Frag rounds are perfect
  5. I recently spied a .410 Saiga with a threaded barrel at a gun shop for $250.00. It may have been slightly used, I didn't ask. If I hadn't sunk some money into a S-12 conversion I would have snapped it up. A .444 conversion would be way cool.

  7. Duck season will be here soon.......
  8. Hell yeah I want one!!!!!!! What do I need to do to get one? BTW nice Slayer poster.
  9. I think it would be the set up to have. You get the rail + adjustable iron sights + you can do tritium. Something which you cannot do with the HALO rail system. Would this be price prohibitive? Talk to me.
  10. Sorry to be repetitive, but would there be a way to install the sight to the rear of the rail itself, instead of installing a rear sight block? Or would it be too much of a PITA?
  11. Rear sight block, I thought so, but wasn't sure. I'm a little new to the sight and didn't know about a glossary, I'll try to look around more. I saw some of the pictures. It looks exciting. Thanks again.
  12. Actually it's Italian. She might take to the wording a bit better.
  13. In Jeff Cooper's book To Ride, Shoot Straight and Speak the Truth he talks about double barreled shotguns being stored on shelves above door ways. They are out of sight but instantly ready. It is a little different with the lack of springs to wear out and the time you could leave it there without swapping mags. The good thing is that it could be in a central location in the house, easily accessible and out of reach of the little fellas.
  14. I keep telling my friends to snatch up the one at the store.........
  15. Could you do a bullpup conversion on an S-12? The ejection port would be a pain if you were shooting left handed, but I think it would be interesting to see. Holo-sight, light, bayonet. Compact and nasty.(Not quite as neat as the Tromix micro) No tax stamp either.
  16. I am not properly versed on LOP, but here is my experience. Length of pull is more important in straight stocks I believe. You have a greater stock distance and if it is too far you are screwed. I don't worry on pistol grip long arms. I prefer to go a little short. It gives you extra clearance to shoulder the firearm quickly. It also allows for thick clothing, like a vest or a winter jacket. Long stocks will cause you to get hung up. With short stocks, I tuck my elbow down and hold it in tight. Shooting high or low, has always been a matter of getting my cheek weld correct
  17. RSB?? The other option for fixed sights; I saw the Glock rear sight you installed. X/S makes a pistol sight for Glocks that would work well for fixed sights. I think I would prefer an adjustable. I'd like to be able to mark the POI for 100, 150 and maybe 200 yards for slugs. What is an RSB? Would there be a way to attach the rear sight to the back of the rail.......?
  18. Street Sweepers and others were made DD's through an executive order. Current threats are the new AWB and possible future executive orders that could come at any time.
  19. Thanks for the reply Cobra 76 two. I'm interested in the rail! The AK sights that I am interested in are the X/S AK sights. http://www.tacticalresponsegear.com/catalo...roducts_id=3085

    Sights

I've seen a lot of different sights here so far. Mainly it seems to be either an AK or HK sight. I am more comfortable with HK sights, but the AK sights seem to be closer to the bore(possibly more accurate). The AK front sight seems like it may be better for precise shooting. Does anyone here have any comments? Can you use the ultimak rail with both sights? I'd like to be able to duck hunt with my S-12 when I'm all done.
  21. Yes all parts. I actually ordered the one from dsams. http://www.dsarms.com/prodinfo.asp?number=AK922S Figured I'd order as many parts from the same place as I could.
  22. You're gonna have to chisel that smile off of your face.
  23. Thanks nalioth, I've been going over some of the posts and FAQs. I just don't want to be elbow deep in the conversion and see that I've missed something.
