    4 new SBS's

Building 4 more for myself why I guess because I can First 8" tested and almost ready for Park, paint, hardcoat Working on optic mount and sling mounts I sure could use the 6 MD-20 drums I ordered!!
  4. It may not be an issue because your arm is already naturaly postiosioned at an angle. The barrel length really only comes into play with the 8" because you only have a small area to mount the front grip and I think it barely clears the mag during insertion. It's just hard for me to tell because I have never even seen an s-12 in person. I requested a quote and on the quote it states the following: "8" system with 11" extension and threaded for a flash hider that is also included". SO I assume that this is an 8" threaded barrel that can accept the included 11" barrel extension or flash
  5. More than 19.95 I ordered 5 with no discount.....19.95 ea.
  6. Just talked with keepshooting operator and she said price increase any day I order 5 1-800-570-8239
  7. I recently gave advice about removing gas block. It was sound advice and I have removed 4 blocks with no problem using this method Just removed one tonight that the 5 pound hand sledge won't budge I had to fixture up in the press and the gauge read 1200 lbs. before it broke loose!! I must comment the guys out there with few tools who say I can do this, and thru determination they prevail!! And wanted to humble myself because everyone has problems now and then. This forum is a great resorce for us all!!
  8. I love it when someone finds a good deal and then belittles the guy.....This dumbass loser business neighbor of mine I think I might be graitful oh i'm sorry Tony is God after all Sorry just feel maybe the down and out guy does'nt deserve to be kicked to the curb
  9. barrel threads are not timed? you would have to include a locking nut
  10. Used it many times on aluminum? May be the alloy giving you a problem JB Also says aluminum? http://jbweld.net/products/jbweld.php
  11. True Dat: Nail polish remover is like 3% acetone and 97% perfume and baby oil. It will not work, some of the Asian nail salons my mom goes to seem to have a smart idea and buy 5 gallon jugs of MEK or acetone so maybe you could ask some of them where they get it or maybe buy a mason jar full of it from them(bring your own container). Sorry, thats wrong. Go into any drug store and look in the cosmetic section. You can buy acetone thats 100%. The last I bought at CVS was about $3.00 for a 12 ounce bottle. Home Depot by the gallon
  12. Yes between the barrel and the gas tube alternating each side. I personally would skip the heat because the gas block and barrel are fairly thin thus not that much of a press. Also its hard to cool and heat when the parts are assembled, thus the active heating and cooling at the same time. if supported well...cement floor...3/4 plywood spacer...proper punch...3-5 pound hand sledge hammer..all required pins removed....and proper technic it will come of. Also you can lightly sand the barrel surface after you removed GB and use a little oil when reinstalling. Why don't you
  13. What is this top cover extension you speak of? The detail that holds the cover in front. A small rounded piece of .060 steel sheet metal tiged to receiver extending the existing tab by about .100" Most guns don't need it, just insurance for a shorty because the carrier nose leaves the gas block and can push up on the top cover. Makes me feel better when 3" mags racking my pickle juice!!
  14. Thanks guys!! Gun now runs Great!!! Ran 25 wallmart win 1 oz # 6's loads with virtually no fouling Then 25 win 2 3/3" 1 1/4oz loads and a few 3" magnum loads with minimal fouling!! Now put about 500 rds of buck and magnums and I'm ready for anodizing and moly resin. I have found so much invaluable info on this post I feel I should contribute again!! Remember every time we drill a hole or pick up a file we learn a little more, and hone our skills that will help us the rest of our lifes. Well maybe help with the honey do list anyway!!
  15. Just spent 4 hrs carefully fixturing up reciever and locating ports so I could remove from mill and weld then refixture to same location. Turned a plug for the barrel bore and made small angled plugs for existing ports. Welded then turn barrel surface and redrilled .073 I will test tonight or tommorrow.
  16. Just drill and tap from bottom with a 8-32 flat head socket screw, that will really tighten it up.
  17. Test fired with win 2 3/4 00 buck and win 3" mag oo buck both fouled gas system within 12 shots to the point of too low of gas pressure / volume to cycle 3" magnums were pounding reciever, Now that's brisk baby !! front cover now about .100 too short allowing excess movment Glad I added a top cover extension!! Need to tweek gas ports and top cover now.
  18. 8 1/2 micro I built myself I will test magnum loads tonight, only on #1 Thanks
  19. I would say if they were good enough for a G3 they are ok for your saiga
  20. I have an s12 and on gas setting 1 it cycles any and all ammo I've tried including cheap wallmart value packs that some people says will give me problems? My worry is many people have to use setting 2 for light loads, so using 3" magnum loads on setting #1 will it overstress reciever? And also how will I know if I'm beating up the gun, harder felt recoil does'nt seem a good measure of stress on gun. Thanks
  21. I use a 12" piece of brass rod 1/2" dia. support end of barrel on block of wood on floor Make sure you have the pins removed. Use a 5 pound hand sledge, a light wieght ball peen will bounce and you will lose energy. Take your time and it will come off.
