  1. quote: "FMJ is useless for anything other than target practice." Oh really? How about a life or death scenario, where the bad guys are in a vehicle. FMJ's have a great chance of making an engine stopping, and easily penetrating car doors, making the bad guys stop, or confuse -n- hurt the hell outta. In a bad guy situation, they might be hiding behind certain materials (layers of sheetrock, drum barrels, brush, etc. ) that would cause hollow or soft pointed bullets to discinergrate, while FMJ rounds can pierce thru, and get to. Take some telephone books, soak them underwater for
  2. Hopefully I'm next in line. Ordered 4k rds. of x39 Wolf on December 13th for $208.97 per 1000. (locked in for free shipping last Christmas.)Been told a few times by Sportsmansguide the magic date was May 5th, for scheduled delivery. My only regret now, is that I didn't at least triple the order at that price. I hope like hell they don't bump it up to July. I hate surprises, so I'm not gonna call and ask them if it's still due to arrive in May.
  3. Bless your soul, my son. You will be awarded 24ct FMJ ammo, with an AK milled of pure diamond w/ grips of pearl and jade, when you crossover here to Paradise. Just kidding, my friend. Hats off to the few honest folk left here in this world. FFF Patriot
  4. Amen brother. I don't just sit there idle, and talk about all the problems. I actually vote and write and call these bastard congressmen, because I don't have the man power to back me up to take "other" measures against the tyrant fuckers that run our country. I wasn't going to comply with one of my Saigas, but as stated by others before on this forum, I'd hate to be the first guy to be an example made of, namely because If I happened to be the one guy in that situation, it WILL make national news. That's all I"ll say for now, because you never know when big brother is watching.
  5. Prior to 1986, you could get an AK-47 for around $300. Since 1986, they've gone up in price considerably (today, $15,000 will get you a beater AK-47). If you're referring to the sporting rifles based on the Kalashnikov, up until ol' Uncle "Change" got elected, you could find Saigas and WASRs for around $300. (today, $15,000 will get you a beater AK-47). What do you mean?
  6. I know herb philipsons sells saigas. I dont know how far you are from my area but here ya go Rome Store|Corporate 300 W. USS Herkimer was built in Wisconsin.
  7. You can get the same one ( www.combathunting.com) for $19.00. (Dinzag's is $50.00)
  8. Speak of the devil. I just posted a thread inquiring about this exact FSB. Does this fit the Saiga? I thought the Bulgarian AK barrels were thicker than the Saiga's. J.D.
  9. For some reason, the link that I copied and pasted from a past topic about this FSB ain't coming in when I click on it. Anyways, the front site block that the web sight sells, is pressed on and held by a cast set screw, and has 24-1.5mm right hand threads on the other end, to screw on your choice of muzzle brake. I'm tryin' to find out of it will fit on my Saiga, and if someone knows of a place who has these. I tried e-mailing the link above this post, and got a notice back saying there is no such address. Thanks. J.D.
  10. Does anyone know for sure if this front sight block will fit onto a Saiga? Not too familiar with barrel thickness. If it doesn't fit, can someone please direct me to the source who has one for my x-39mm Saiga. Also, it says the threads are right-handed. Most of the threads for muzzle attachments, I thought were left-handed. Thanks, in advanced. J.D. http://akpartskits.com/cart/index.php?main...;products_id=52
  11. The weakest point of an AK, is the operator. Eat a Mediterrian style diet , start working out with free weights, get yourself an A.L.I.C.E. pack with at least 50lbs. (sand bag) in it, run up hills at least thirty minutes three times a week, and learn how to use yer AK to the fullest. (i.e. target acquision, position dicipline (frequently snapping in), hittin' -n- rollin' locked -n- loaded (not if you've been drinkin'), and practice real life fighting scenarios ( in any terrain you plan on ever inhabiting.) And as Nalioth said, another AK. J.D.
  12. Was searchin' but saw that no one asked. I was always taught that the only dumb question is the one not asked. Did you install a bullet guide? Experienced the same problems before I installed mine. J.D.
  13. Thank yous guys fer the replys. I ended up taking my wire feed welder, and building up both of the safety levers on both Saigas that I've been working over, due to the problem of the weapons firing on safety mode. On the one I converted, I had problems with putting the lever back in, after the Tapco trigger conversion. So instead of rocking the thing-a-ma-jig forward, I got pissed, pulled it out, and ground too much off the bastard (which caused the hammer to fly home once the trigger was pulled) (Been drinkin' since 12:30 p.m., now 10:07p.m., so any questions---, or request fer pictures, I
  14. Howdy fellers. I just converted one of my Saigas and dropped Dinzags (two-part) compliant Tapco trigger in my other Saiga, over the course of the past six days, and four cases of beer (laid off construction worker, trailer park inhabitant, low/pretty much no bills, lots of free time, later, and figured out a real easy way to keep that new gas piston from possibly backing out, without tapping and threading out the holes ( from some of the things I've read), and driving a pin, or flatting a nail through the carrier, into the piston itself (to stop it from possibly backing out). I just aim
  15. I just converted my 7.62. Had a helluva time tryin' to put the safety lever back in after I put the BHO in. I took the lever and ground off too much material, due to the problem I was having clearing part of the FCG. Now the safety doesn't work now ( slam fires once lever is turned down to fire position after trigger is pulled). I'm just gonna replace the bastard, but I need to know if the Saigas safety levers are interchangeable with the Wasr-10. I did a search for the standard Saiga lever, (as far as who sells them), and found none, but they do sell replacements for the Romanians. I ha
  16. I installed a bullet guide. I'll make sure that I only have my Pro Mags, not my steel commies with me when I take her out. My compliant US parts number will be at 6. Pro Mags (3) Tapco gas piston (1) Dinzag's trigger group (2) Here's a picture of her...
  17. "Driving yourself crazy". I laughed when I saw the caption on the newspaper with an arrow pointing towards your taped off receiver in one of the pictures you have. It must be a sign or an omen, if you didn't stage it like that. (LOL)
  18. I've been searchin' around, but haven't found the answer. I have one Saiga x39mm with everything I need to convert, and another one that I don't won't to convert. I've got a Russian folding stock with pistol grip on the un-converted, but I wanna know if the Tapco, or any USA made trigger group will drop in, in place of the stock trigger, without converting. Also, will I need a shepards crook to secure it, since the FCG won't be moved forward? It'll be legally compliant with the other US made parts after I drop the US made trigger in. I want to go this route, because I really like this stock I
  19. Let me be your adopted brother. Give the Saiga to your blood brother, and the Yugo to your newly adopted brother!

And if i do trade my guns for a car and
  21. I got the same one, and had the same problem. Used a screwdriver a thousand times, opening and closing the sob, and it would not loosen up. Finally, I took it apart, and drilled out the hole about two drill sizes bigger, and now I can deploy it easily with one hand. There is, however a little slop in it, when it is opened, but it doesn't affect performance for me. I plan on taking it apart again, and inserting a rubber washer in the drilled out pivot hole, with a little grease on it. It's a little noisy right now with the slop when I move it around, but I figure it should be taken care of with
  22. Well, one good thing about the p.o.s. liberal takin' the election so far, is the boom in gun sales. Ever since he got elected, I've been picking up TONS of brass at the range for reloading. It's unbelieveable how many more people are going to the range with their newly purchased pistols and rifles. I just wished that I would've went to pick up more brass when Clintler was initally elected.
  23. I was a "maw-duece" .50 cal gunner in Somalia. Semper Fi, bro's. Talk about making some big holes in some bad guys!
  24. Now that someone had some good report with the Pro-Mags, I just remembered that the first four magazines I bought for the Wasr I have, I used two of them to run around 800 rounds through them, and not one single jam. I gave it to my ole lady, and I got my two Saigas. Still impressed as hell by the tire test video, though.
  25. Oops. I may have gotten the cart in front of the horse. I just read the Pro-Mag topic on this forum, and most of the bros here are saying they're shitty magazines. Re-nig my last thread.
