Haven't fired the gun yet, but just messing with it to see how it feels. Put in an empty magazine, pull the bolt back, push the magazine release and pull the magazine, the bolt slams shut. That's not supposed to happen. Put in a magazine with one shell in it, pull and release the bolt, pull again to eject the shell and simulate firing, push the magazine release and pull the magazine, usually it will stay open. Is this thing defective?

So when do you think all the crazy buying of ammo and mags will stop? No one has been stocked up with mags or ammo since the Newtown shooting..god bless their souls. Until we find out whats gonna happen with the ban, mags and ammo will be scarce..unfortunatly. I used to be able to bye at least 1000 rounds per month and mississippautoarms.com had thousands of mags..anybody know where to get magazine rebuild kits?

Need some help Identifying a magazine I stumbled across today. The gentleman in the old time gun shop had (4) AK47 magazines, he ALLOWED me to purchase only (1) magazine, for $25. I chose this waffle pattern, clear/smoke 30 rounder plastic with no identification on it, anywhere. Is it Bulgarian? No circle 10 marks.... Is it Tapco? or Promag? I thought they all were marked as such..... Any help would be appreciated!!

Hi guys, It seems like a dun goofed up! The below are 4 keepshooting plastic mags that I tried to get to fit in my Saiga 12, but I'm sure you can see I suck with tools. My question is is there any way that I can fix them or did I completely goof up? Thanks bros!

I recently ordered several magazines for the Saiga 12 and thought a review of the latest generations would prove benefitial. The focus will be on craftsmanship and design. In this review I will cover: 10 round SGM Tactical 10 round ProMag 10 round AGP Arms SGM Tactical (10 rounds) The Good: The follower is solid and the spring was in great shape upon initial inspection--not a given as we will see. The Bad: This thing is ugly. Not only is the design bland, but it's marked up from being removed from the mold and lacked any finishing touches (no deburring). The compression spring

How many people have used the bulgarian .223 magazines with good results in their saiga .223?

Hey Forum members, What functions would you like to see in the ultimate AK magazine? Are there things you see in AR magazines that you wish we could have in an AK? I'm a long time mold maker and would like to design and produce the very best AK magazine available. Thank's in advance your your input. Hopefully this will lead to a production run in the vendor area some day.

So, after falling in love with my 7.62 Saiga, I caught the bug to buy Saigas, but unfortunately, I was having a hard time finding them as at reasonable* price, so I decided to pick up two 5.45s. Little did I know, mags at a discount price are difficult to come by, for just about any variety (polymer, steel, Tantal, Bulgarian, ect, ect). I stumbled across two different types of Bulgarian "Circle" Mags...Circle 10s and Circle 21s. I know that Circle 10s seem to be heavily favored around these parts, but I'm feeling from the sticker shock. The Circle 21s seem to be identical to the Circle 10s

Here is what I don't understand. What is the difference between a Saiga magazine and a regular AK-47 magazine that makes it necessary to install the extra guide plate in the receiver, in order for ammo to load reliably. I'm not asking what the difference is in the gun, I'm asking what the difference is in the magazine itself. Is there a mod that can be done to the magazine that does not require modding the gun?

I have 4 ALL SPF clear AGP 10 round mags for sale that have never been used or even inserted into a gun. Brand new except that I bought them years ago when AGP did a short run of them. Can't really find them now, especially in new condition. These can also be used to make smoke colored magazines, I've done one using spray on tail light tint. Anyway, here are the pics: $65 shipped each,3 or more = 55 each. ALL SPF Will also trade, let me know what you got. Now cross posted.

Hey guys this is my first post. First off I want to thank everyone for all of the information. I just did the conversion on my Saiga and wouldn't have been able to do so with out all the great threads and how to's. You guys rock! Second off after trying to file down my mag catch in order to fit "Standard Ak mags" A 30 round mag locked in..... But wont allow me to relase it. The release seems very tight, and I do not want to force it forward... Anyone run into this problem? Or any hints tips or tricks. I do not want to force my gun to do something she doesnt want to. But I will if I have to.

Hello, Sorry if this has already been asked but I have not been able to find a detailed answer. I rececently purchased a stock Saiga-12 and was wondering if I could legally use detachable magazines that hold more than 5 rounds? I know since my Saiga is not converted or "restored" it needs to stay in "sporting" configuration but I am confused on the magazine limit. Thank you for any insight.
