Hunter78 1
A friend of mine bulged his barrel, Not really sure if it was the reloads he was using or barrel obstruction. Its right by the gas block. I could probably get it very cheap since he is going to buy a new one now. So would it be possible to salvage? I was wondering if you took one of those romanian kits and and screwed the barrel out and put it in the saiga along with the bolt if that would work. Would you have headspace issues? Are the threads and the pin the same? Otherwise I may buy it just to strip off some ussable parts.
blurted 0
I am in the process of replacing the barrel on my Saiga. The trunion is 22mm on the Saiga, 23mm on the romy. You could turn down the romy barrel and try that. I lucked out and found a used Saiga barrel to put in. By the way, the barrels are press and pin, not thread and pin. Bvamp 604
it should be declared as a damaged component, if you think it might come into the short shotgun laws, and there isnt a tax stamp held for it.

I don't have it with me I'll see if he can get pics, but its not bulged badley. I don't think it was a failure of the gun. He bought some reloads from a guy at a gun show and I think there was a bad shell (no powder) however nothing in the barrel now, but he didn't notice it until cleaning. jimmy_stikx 0
Center Fire Systems has virgin replacement barrels for the the M70, that should work, or something from K-Var.
BobAsh 582
Since the barrel/trunnion isn't threaded, headspacing is tricky.
IndyArms 10,186
is it BEFORE or AFTER the gas block? If AFTER, I would just hack it off and SBR it... Or if it were me... I would hack it off, and build a krink look alike out of it, and not say MUM... but then I am the rebel... LOL
Hunter78 1
It was before the gb. I just passed on it. It seemed more trouble then it was worth. He sold it to someone who was going to try to use the reciever for a build. I think I'm just going to buy a new one and convert.
