6500rpm 670
Missouri is becoming more gun fiendly by the day. About the only restriction that I know of is no cans on the end of the barrel. Everything is obtainable with the proper paperwork. We now able to CCW, have instant background checks on rifle, shotty, and handguns, and passed the castle doctrine that allows you to use deadly force against intruders. St Louis in general is a pretty well kept secret in terms of affordability and a pretty decent place to live (outside the City limits). Need more places to shoot unless you plan on buying a lot of property.
6x6pinz 4
I thought for sure someone would speak up for AZ. As long as you stay at least as far north as Phoenix the crimigrants aren't bad. There is a variety of elevations to choose from so you can get the weather you like, it is not all desert. The prescott area also has JG sales for ammo supplies and the hunting while not the best in the country is not all bad. We have lots of public and state land that is good for hunting (the only reason I own my saigas). Oh yeah and the strong dislike for the Kalifornia types help keep their numbers down. joelrod47 373
Missouri is becoming more gun fiendly by the day. ..............and who wouldn't love a place like that !!!! (Couldn't help myself, Mark.......) LOL !! I finally came back to Arkansas after many years of living in other states.....Louisiana, South Carolina, Illinois (OMG), Wisconsin (OMG2)......' Gun-friendly, hunting, fishing, CCW, Castle Doctrine, shoot damn near anywhere......... Everything I need is here. Taxes aren't bad, and I make a better living here than in the Upper Midwest (Chicago)......Lower cost of living here, too....... Housing market is great for the prices, and land is available in all types....... (Terrible influx of Yankees in here, though..............) (Hell, I brought my own Yankee back here from Wisconsin, and now you couldn't whip her ass and make her move back there......) Edited April 10, 2008 by Jeaux E

Of particular notice, and a subject that im ignorant in on any number of other states, is the fate of gun laws pending a poor ruling in the D.C. SCOTUS case, which would allow individual cities the right to pass legislation "infringing on the right to bear arms." Arizona will have no fear of such a case unless there is a federal ban on guns, as there cannot be a local one as the Arizona state constitution guarantees "The right of the individual citizen to bear arms in defense of himself or the State shall not be impaired . . . " Thats individual, not the potentially confusing to liberals "militia" though, if that isnt enough, the same peice of paper also states that "The militia of the State of Arizona shall consist of all capable citizens of the state [between the ages of eighteen and forty-five years],and of those [between said ages] who shall have declared their intention to become citizens of the United States, residing therein, subject to such exemptions as now exist, or as may hereafter be created, by the laws of the United States or of this state." which i think would solve the whole second amendment debate as it is, but what do i know. while im quoting, i might as well throw in my favorite quote "All political power is inherent in the people, and governments derive their just powersfrom the consent of the governed, and are established to protect and maintain individual rights." Article 2, Section 2, Arizona Constitution And that isnt just true in Arizona. Definately not a bad state to consider.

It is nice to see people have pride in where they are from even if they weren't born there. So we will add: NV and Arizona to the list. This is helpful guys. It is too bad that we even have to have this thread which speaks to the inequality of freedom from state to state. I don't think our founding fathers would have approved of the incremental stripping of freedoms on many levels of which our firearms are the most obvious. By the way, I am not enjoying the weather today. We are under a tornado watch. I know, I am a weather wimp but it sure makes you feel small especially if you haven't grown up with it. royke 0
Colorado is very gun friendly with all the NFA toys available. They have the "Make My Day Law" too. Plus the weather is awesome (except for when it snows 4 feet)! Mandatory background check on private modern gun sales/trades at funshows with $10 fee for each one, even on same day. If you make a trade with 2 different individuals an hour apart, each of you has to pay for background check twice.......Perhaps you have beeen convicted of a felony in between......!?!? Oh, here in Texas we have state preemption on gun laws and your Concealed Handgun License elimanates the need for a background check if you buy from a dealer. No state restrictions to buy from individual. NFA friendly too.... Edited April 11, 2008 by Nagant

jbauch357 0
I've lived all over in the Seattle/Tacoma/Olympia area, grew up on the northern part of the border between washington and idaho, and lived down in Moscow Id for a while. If you want to make money and spend all of it just trying to get by move to western washington, better make sure that you like rain too - cause realistically it's rainy 8-9 months a year here... Also make damn sure you enjoy trying to work/communicate with people from every corner of the earth that have absolutely no idea how to drive/talk/work/think in the states... Add to that a suffocating culture of anti-gunners, greeners, hippies, yuppies, and so on... Traffic is always screwed, I drive to work 7 miles and it takes on average 45 min... Basically it's horrible here. Spokane/Coeur d' Alene are fantastic. The jobs aren't as plentiful or high-paying there, but the cost of living is ffaarrrrr cheaper in every aspect. There are 4 distinct seasons with temperature ranges from -10 to 110 and you'll see a good deal of sun regardless of the season... People are more scattered as are businesses and housing, but it doesn't matter because roads are planned well enough that you can drive to work 20 miles in 20 min. Can you tell I want to move back?
