I live in the Socialists Republik of Commiefornia and I added a Tapco Saiga Galil handguard and a UTG 2 slot tri rail mount right in front of it. I have a Pentagon light mounted forward on the left side and a Harris bipod on the bottom rail. back towards the rear of my politically korrect "black gun" I have a side mount Picatinny rail with both top and side rails. On the side rail I have my NcStar green laser mounted next to my EoTech 551 holosight and behind that a PVS18 Gen 2.5 NVG monocular. It still has the standard butt stock and with that I am able to use standard AK magazines after installing my Dinzag bullet guide. When the NVG is mounted (only for demo purposes of course) I have a IR filter cap over the Pentagon light. Mounted on the last bolt on the side rail scope mount is a Mesa Tactical hook type single point sling mount and a Condor single point sling. I will try and post a picture in the near future. Its as "evil looking" as I dare in this state.

Hello

Here are few pictures of mine.

I have installed Tapco stock with pistop grip ( 2 parts), from Dinzag I have installed a gas piston (1 part) & AK-74 flash suppressor (1 part), plus I have installed a non-made in USA front handguard, bipod & scope with mount. I use surefire 30 round or the 47 round master molder (3 parts) magizines to make sure I stay in compliance.

I do have the Dinzag FCG for non converted (2 parts) to install yet.

Unconverted 7.62 with a Saiga stock from Krebs. I wanted a SHTF rifle thats dangerous on both ends. The collapsible stock doesn't offer the same skull crushability factor.

I have a question. Is this style butt stock considered a "pistol grip" per 922r? If not, can you still use the factory russian mags with it as well as American made 30 rounders if nothing else is changed on the rifle?

My thinking is that with the new butt stock + American 30 round mag = 14 - 1 - 3 = 10 foreign parts = OK.

But if it also isn't considered a pistol grip, then keeping the factory 10 rounder Russian mags shouldn't be a problem either, correct?

Never mind, I think I got my answer here.

Although now I'm not sure if that butt stock is American made, which if it isn't, I can't use American 30 rounder mags without replacing another part. Which isn't a big issue for me right now, since all I really wanted was a sturdier stock than the factory sporter style one that came with it.

In the PRK it would be considered a PG

Fluid Power,

I will admit that the muzzle brake on the .223 realy is not needed, as the rifle has no recoil without it. It does balance the rifle better when shooting off the bipod though. For practical purposes, a flash hider would serve you better with the .223. The J-tac brake on the x39 does a fantastic job eliminating muzzle rise and flash.

the handguards are UTG. These are for sale everywhere, often real cheap at gun shows. Remember that they are not American made so dont count towards compliance.

The best thing you can do for an unconverted Saiga IMO, is get Danzig's unconverted trigger group. most all factory AK triggers suck. You will never realize this gun's accuracy potential without trigger work or a different trigger.

My unconverted 7.62:

Parts count: Starting w/ 15 since have added a PG.... (14 is orig. stock Saiga count)

15-2 (ACE folding stock w/ PG) = 13

13-3 (Master Molder 30 rd. mag) =10 the 'Magic Number'

BTW, on your question MortalWombat on the Drag style stock.... Awnser is YES, the BTAFE does consider a 'Thumbhole' style stock 2 parts (PG and Buttstock) for 922r compliance....So Calculate Accordingly!

mein gott...that is an amazing setup. might i ask where you got the scope and bipod from?

I'm a new saiga-convert. Before, my rifle of choice was a .250 Savage. However, we've experienced an incursion

of feral hogs and a lever action just doesn't have the fire rate necessary to drop a whole herd of 'em (high accuracy hopes, I know, but lemme dream, eh?) Anyway, I figured I might as well have some fun prettying up my varmint gun and yours is the closest to my ideal that I've seen thus far. Suggestions/guidance?
