JesseJames 0
I see 7.62x39, .308, 30-06, .223, etc.. why no 5.45? I'd love to make a ak 105 clone but its a no-go with SAIGAs.
nalioth 405
There was an email from RAAC promising 5.45x39 Saigas in the next few months. Edited December 10, 2008 by nalioth
KySoldier 2
Are they still just running one assembly line? I'd rather they didn't add a new caliber to their production line if they are still doing a batch in one caliber and then shutting everything down, retooling, and building another caliber. Im sure they have many assembly lines. Keep in mind izhmash also makes ak's for the military.
Bvamp 604
If the Russians do not want you to know, then why ask? the Russians may indeed reincarnate the obsolete 5.45 in time. the 54R is out, however. Ill stick to my .22LR 308 and 12g.

They don't have an assembly line for each model.
Triggerhappy2006 0
Check out Izhmash's website they are currently producing a Saiga 5.6X39, which would probably be easier to handload for, and they make a Saiga in 9X53 which I am assuming is an awesome load. The 5.45X39 is no where near obsolete, they currently use it in the there special forces hardly obsolete, and Russian counter-snipers and sharpshooters use the SVD which is 7.62X54R so neither is "out"
