MadDog 3
ACE makes some HIGH QUALITY stuff! I ordered the 'cut the dang tang' receiver adapter and the folding stock. I used Mr. Dremel to remove the tang and my grinder to finish up. I will post some pics soon. I am very pleased to say the least...as THE SAIGA 12 converted w/US parts and the ACE tangless folding stock is THE TICKET!!! The stock is ROCK SOLID. All I need now is a screw-on Flash Hider as I have purchased four 5 round mags via the Internet. MadDog
topmaul 42
So what are you going to do with it?
MadDog 3
When I'm not fondling it I believe I'll SHOOT IT! (the same thing that I do with my 870 and 500a) Edited February 7, 2005 by MadDog

johnnymceldoo 0
I love my ace too although I dont have the new style reciever adapter that you have yet. Post some pics already!
Big12 0
MadDog, do you have a line on any 5 or 8rd mags? Also, I concur, ACE is definetly THE PLACE for stocks!
Caspian 32
what was the total and what were the part numbers? i'm looking into that setup myself, but the variations are a bit confusing. caspian
MadDog 3
Here you go...Like I said ACE ROCKS! After all the usual conversion stuff, I had to fit the receiver adapter (hey it's a TIGHT fit and that's good) and also remove material from the rear tang (after I cut it off) so the folder would close. My pistol grip hole must not have been exact enough; therefore, I had to work on the hole again as the pistol grip nut goes thru the new receiver adapter and the hole in the frame. I almost forgot - during the conversion I shortened and rounded the bolt stop lever on the grinder as it was WAY TOO long and too square for me. Also, I removed material from the top rear of the trigger so the safety would work. I used "E" clips to hold the pins in. Here are the ACE parts: ACE tangless AK receiver block (AKRBC 35.00), ACE Skeleton stock 8.5" with 1/2" recoil pad (AKFXS 64.95), ACE Folding Stock Mechanism with 1/4" sling (FSM-SMG 59.95) The ACE receiver block is solid and blocks the old worthless holes in the receiver. I had 2nd and 3rd thoughts about cutting the tang; however, I am glad that I did!!! I just sprayed the touchup paint tonight: Edited February 8, 2005 by MadDog

KySoldier 2
Any plans on reversing the hinge piece so it folds out of the way?
MadDog 3
That was my original idea to have the stock fold to the left. The problem is that to fold to the left I had to reverse the adapter. That means that to close the stock one has to push UP instead of down on the stock. I didn't like the left folder for that reason so I used the standard right hand folder. Just one of the good points of the ACE setup is that one can adjust the stock (up or down.) That let's it clear the charging handle so it will shoot with the stock closed. Also, with the stock closed there is about 1/2 inch between it and the receiver. All you have to do is just pull the folded stock and it glides open then locks-up solid! It is very smooth...very high quality. Johnny, I need a threaded Flash Hider for this baby... IndyArms 10,186
What did you use to hold the FCG pins in place? Did you tweak the spring that came with it? or a retainer plate? or????
Steven 0
you could drill and thread the holes in the tangless block where the receiver holes are. Not that it needs it but that would make it rock freakin sold for sure.
MadDog 3
I used E clips! I thought about drilling the block; however, I had to fit the block and hammer it in anyway. Therefore, it's so solid already it does not need any more support. I also picked up the plastic Hillman plugs but don't need 'em. I'll save them for the NEXT SAIGA that I am going to convert... hardcorps1775 1
sweet pix! can you still operate the safety lever and pull the trigger with the stock folded? also, if the stock were folded to the left, would a mounted sight interfere with the locking of the stock and would the sling swivel have to be on the right hand side?
MadDog 3
Operate Safety lever while folded - NOPE Operate Trigger while folded - Yes Left folder - sling swivel is on the RIGHT side Sight question - don't have a clue as I don't have a scope w/rail for it. KySoldier 2
If the stock folds to the left, a scope mount will prevent it from locking in the folded position.
