Paulyski 2,227
Our US Navy Ceremonial Guard Silent Drill Team was invited to compete in an International Tattoo in Norway. The Navy competed against military units from all over NATO and won first place. Once you see the video you'll understand why they won. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xWGU3mpfRoM Edited November 26, 2009 by Paulyski

shaneman153a 39
I love that they do it with the bayos attached. I had a friend in the old guard that watched his pal take a flying 8.5lb rifle with bayonet right to the shoulder. Ouch!
Bvamp 604
well, at least we can still show we are #1 with some things...... man...right past his face....
Nailbomb 10,221
I've never been one for choreography, with troops with guns, or with britney spears lip synching in front of it. I can understand the effort involved, just not my thing.
TR Young 175
Yeah, that was awesome.
janusthephoenix 24
Reminds me of the opening scene from "A Few Good Men". Cool!

But really, I've seen this drill routine in person, from about 30' away while standing in ranks... They are hypnotic & artistic to say the least. I'm surprised that they havn't changed the routine much in 10 years. My favorite though, is the sound of 80 men, marching with a "heavy left" in otherwise absolute silence in the middle of the night. I'ts just down-right earie sounding.
G O B 3,516
I used to watch these guys practice back in '70 when I was in Boot. They are beyond awesome. It was not unusual to see one or two of them with bandages on their hands and STILL training! The closest thing to the precision of their drill would be the BlackWatch. Their sword work is also awesome!
