I did it. Here it is before and after.

Congrats on completing the conversion. Looking good. What did you do with the old triger axis holes? Also, is that a RAM bolt-on trigger guard?

I haven't done anything with the holes yet, I'm going to get some nylon plugs to pop in them for now. The trigger guard is a DIY #2 from Mississippi Arms. It is a bolt on.

On a Saiga 7.62x39, I wouldn't even bother reinstalling the BHO. The rifle doesn't need it, (unlike most Saiga shotguns).

Anyway, that's a good-lookin restoration, sartwell.

The next step is to install a bullet guide and slightly file your mag release so that you can use standard combloc steel AK mags instead of pricey, (and comparitively fragile), US poly mags. ;)

Looks good, man!

I don't care how many times I see a 'before' and 'after' conversion thread, I love 'em! :super: There's just something about seeing this platform transformed from the imported configuration into an extension of the owner's personality. :smoke:

The nylon plugs do work very well. They blend right in. What kind of paint did you use to refinish the bottom?
