Chick bangs on my door

Tells me my dogs have a possum pinned in a tree

i figure ill shoot it

i live in the burbs but i say

oh well

been itchin to use my 7.62

so i line it up and...

 

i have to say

i was very surprised

trigger is like butter

recoil is hardly noticable

 

havent smelled gunpowder in 20 years

 

felt like i was shooting a .22

 

So heres where it gets funny...

 

after blasting this possum at 5 feet

(it was at the base of the tree, i was using softpoint ammo)

i noticed it was still breathing!

 

i was in shock!

possum survives AK!

 

So i shot it again

At this point i was relieved

because i pulled out the bolt and put it back in about 4 times and wasent 100% sure it would actually reload lol

 

so im watching it and it is still breathing!

 

At this point im a little confused/disappointed

 

do i shoot it again?

i take a shovel and poke it a little bit

Ahh...mystery solved

it wasent breathing

there was a baby possum inside a pouch or something

stuck its little head out and tried to come out

So macho man that i am i shoot the little thing

its about half the size of a soda can lol

it kinda just rolls over and dies

so i pull the mama possum back

and the whole backside is completely gone

 

and out come about 8 more little possums

they look kinda shocked but otherwise ok

 

so at this point i start to behead them all with my shovel

and my teenage son starts freaking out cause i am slaughtering all these little baby possums lol

 

i buried them all right there with the shovel

 

no cops ever came

end of story

lol

I absolutely hate possums with a passion for an encounter with one when I was about 12.

You might want to sight it in and get some range time with it. If you ever really need it, it would be good to know where it sends things. You'll need an AK47 sight tool to adjust the front post...from TAPCO or others...about $9.

You do know if the cops show up on a weapons violation the first thing they do is confiscate the rifle. Moral of that is always have a throw away available.
