LAK Supply 0
I just got done with a conversion (along with a med twister puck and gas fixer plug) and the gun now FTE's nearly every round, even with buck and slugs on setting 2 out of 3. Is there something that could be dragging here and slowing the bolt down enough to cause the failures?
hobbyshooter 59
Have you tried it with the factory gas puck? The medium twister puck vents gasses past the puck into the receiver therefore lowering the pressure in the gas system. Chowderhead72 13
+1 on the try again with factory puck.
sapper1371usmc 107
Yep, Ditch the medium TwisterPuc for either a standard TwisterPuc, or go back to the factory puck. As hobbyshooter stated, the medium allows gas to flow past the puck. They are for overgassed guns or for shooting 3" magnum loads.

Cobra 76 two 2,677
Unless the new hammer has been re-profiled to put less drag on the bolt carrier, it's going to slow it down a lot. When you pull back on the charging handle can you feel a point of extra resistence about halfway back or more? Then if you ride the bolt forward slowly (something you don't want to do when live firing BTW), does it stop when it gets to the hammer?
