Sumsky 115 Posted February 20, 2011 Report Share Posted February 20, 2011 (edited) I made this for my 12 inch S12. Just finished cutting and grinding, now to get it welded. I used the front Sight from my Saiga Rifle, a extra S12 Barrel Thread Protector, and a little Elbow Grease. I am going to secure it to the Barrel with a set screw. The Gasblock was moved back, so this Front sight will fill that empty space in front of the Gasblock. To adjust the gas setting I am going to drill a hole in the Gas Plug this way I can still turn the Plug without removing the Frontsight. Did you weld the nut on the side? We need more info I used my Dremel to grind out the threads inside the thread protector, this way it will slide all the way back to the Gas Block. I then drilled a hole on the bottom so I can weld a nut over the hole which a set screw will be used to secure the unit. It just my way of copying the aftermarket bolt on AK sights out there. I am too cheap to pay for a Krebs, (so I made a Jebs) . This sight will fill that little gap you see in front of my Gasblock, it realy completes the front section of my Gun. I still have to rethread the tip of my Barrel and put the protector back on. Quote Link to post Share on other sites

Its definately too high for the factory rear at the moment. I am thinking of putting on one of those big Bullseye Ghost ring where the factory sight is. As long as that front sight houseing uses an AR style sight post, you should put an XS sight BIG DOT sight post in to replace the factory one. HUGE and WHITE and GREAT for quick target acquisition. Even better with a shorty like urs. Plus the tritium in it is bright as shit and is great for low light or even no light shooting (not that you'd want to...just sayin) Quote Link to post Share on other sites
