dobravery 49
I was just curious if people think it is a good, bad thing or no difference, that companies like Arsenal buy up Saigas then convert them into enhanced (though also more expensive) rifles. On one hand it may elevate prices and lower availability of base model Saigas. On the other, maybe it increases the vested interest in the Saigas import. Any thoughts? chevyman097 2,579
I for one like the fact that they do this. Much higher quality restoration than I could ever do. Also saves the trouble of buying one factory and sending it off to be converted.

Dad2142Dad 6,559
Without the vendors buying them in mass quantities, I do think they would be easy to get at all. Without demand there is no supply
RobRez 1,895
Many folks don't have the time or possibly the confidence to do a conversion themselves, also it does provide the "Instant gratification" that seems to be the main motivating factor for the American Consumer. grendelz 61
I didn't think K-var did the conversion. I thought Legion did the work and K-var imported them like that. I could be wrong

the mechanic 11
It is a good thing. When prices recently shot up Tromix only charged me $550 for a base gun to convert. At the time they were, and still are, selling for much much more. I also got an SGL 21 for cheaper than it would have cost me to build one.
MT Predator 2,294
I think it really helps the vendors/manufacturers with sales of parts used to convert as well as mags and accessories. It is decreasing the number of stock S-12s on the market however.
Bvamp 604
there is a little rearranging going on with the upper tiers of the saiga world. they will start flowing again, dont worry. they will trickle through the distributors and past the vendors building them up in large quantities again this summer or fall, I am thinking. I think some are due in this spring as well, although Im not sure which of the importers has dibs on what.
