Porklops 5
Finally found a sar-1 after hoping to score one since they dried up years ago. seems unfired as all the internals show zero wear,no fouling on the gas system anywhere and an abundance of oily cosmo like stuff all over the internals and gas piston. very happy to pay 460 for it,and scored some golden tiger too.. good gun show day! really digging the grain on this wood too
ChileRelleno 7,071
$460 at a Gun Show? That isn't bad at all... Congrats!
schultze13 354
Not a bad gun, I got two SAR 2's and I love them I got mine for $300 each before Obummer got in and for the money they are great guns.

mpoppel41 24
nice sscore, haven't seen one of those in years at a gun show, back when ammo was cheap i would burn through cases of ammo in my sar-1, my sar-2 haven't fired it yet. DrThunder88 912
I don't know if I've ever seen a Romanian AK with solid beech furniture. It makes sense, I suppose, but it's still very cool! Nice score!
slostang 80
My SAR-1 is my go to rifle. It's ran flawlessly for 1k rounds so far.
canoecanoe 63
Good buy and a good price. Sar 1's go for about $550 here in Georgia. I have two and love them and will never let them go. Edited January 30, 2012 by canoecanoe
yakdung 2,926
Good for you. I love my SAR1 & SAR3. Yakdung
Floyd9 30
Damn! My first AK was going to be a SAR-1.....but when I got back to the table at the gun show they were all gone.....I had to settle for a WASR at the same price. All is well that ends well I guess, its a good solid gun, just a hair of mag wobble and she shoots straight! Reliable as hell to boot! Beggars can't be choosers
6x6pinz 4
My SAR1 is what started the AK bug for me. Still have it and it still shoots perfect. The insides show that the rifle has been shot a lot. Almost time to replace hammer as it started mushrooming around the edges some years ago and now pieces are starting to break off the mushroom. Recoil springs are very soft but the action is unbelievably smooth. Amazing what many, many, many cases of ammo will do for an AK. For some reason I don't get the bug to shoot my Sar3 like the Sar1 and I have hardly even fired my Sar2. Very nice find and a great price. For that price I would add yet another Sar to my collection. mancat 2,368
For some reason Cugir used almost exclusively solid beechwood on the SAR series. Most WASRs have new laminate with some solid wood thrown in here and there. Very nice buy.
Chisell 2
Looks nice!
washburnizer 8
Love my SAR-1. It has a sidefolding stock, but the front wood is beautiful. Paid $500 for it last year. Very nice AK.
WhiskeyMinion 300
A SAR-2 was my 1st Kalashnikov. Put about 10K rounds through it without a hiccup. Kick myself every day for selling it back in '
BlenderWizard 12
I just picked one up as well. Realistically, how hard is it to knock the gas block off? I really want to change the gb to get a bayo lug and thread the barrel

I had my front sight removed and had the barrel threaded so I could attach a brake. I tossed the original trigger set and then attached a Romanian wire folder. One of the favorite guns in my collection.
