jgillaspy 24
Well, with cobra's help I was able to finish my modifications. so far the beast has the following: For 922® compliance (all purchased from CSS) Tromix Gas Piston Tromix PG Adapter Tromix Stock Adapter Tromix Trigger Tromix Disconnector The following don't count for 922® compliance, but were purchased to complete the modifications or for fun... Beretta/Benelli Trulock Tactical Choke (Centerfire Systems) Gas Booster Bushing (Centerfire Systems) Pignose Adapter (CSS) AR PG screw (CSS) Commercial Buffer Tube (CSS) Buffer Tube Castle Nut Lock Ring (CSS) Tapco SAW-style PG (Internet somewhere...) I already had the Magpul MOE stock, but I will be changing to something with a little more cushion. 3" Magnum slugs really tore up my shoulder... I used a table-top band saw to do all of the cutting. It worked very well. I was really nervous about doing the modifications since I'd never hacked up a $700.00 weapon. I only paid $263.00 for my Saiga 7.62x39 rifle. I'm happy with the results and would feel comfortable assisting someone else with theirs. 3-gun, here I come! Anyway, hope you enjoy... jgillaspy ETA: additional pieces about which I forgot... jgillaspy 24
*Thuds table* oops excuse me apparently i'm sitting to close. *rearranges self* very nice I was looking at getting me one of these here turkey guns. How was it different with the Tromix parts vs. Stock? And how much into it have to put into it? I'm looking around $900 total gun +mods. $350.00 + trade-in firearm I hated for the firearm itself at a local gun show $160.00 for the parts from CSS $50.00 from Centerfire Systems $560 or so out of pocket. the trade thing was the only way I was able to afford it. The firearm I traded was a total loss to me, so anything was gravy. It would be around $950 otherwise. The Tromix parts do 2 things: 1. Get the "Foreign Parts" count down to acceptable levels for 922r compliance for "non-sporting" configurations (folding / collapsing stocks, "high-capacity" magazines) 2. Allow you to customize the stock and PG to anything you can put on an AR With the original, the receiver was 1 piece including the stock, PG and lower receiver, all polymer. jgillaspy
TZL 0
Got a link to the choke / tactical choke you bought? I thought the Akdal used winchoke/browning invector chokes not benelli? shades_of_grey 1,092
What was the "hated" firearm you traded in?
jgillaspy 24
I got it from Centerfire Systems. They don't list the manufacturer so I tried to ID it from photos: http://centerfiresys...-TAC-CHOKE.aspx Hope this helps... JG Got a link to the choke / tactical choke you bought? jgillaspy 24
What was the "hated" firearm you traded in? I can't remember. It was a DAO .45 from somewhere in California that had such a long trigger action my wife had to literally change her hand position to pull the trigger. She lovved the looks, then couldn't shoot it... It was a total loss for me, so $350 was great. JG
Fitty% 808
I can tell from how high the caps protrude on the Aimpoint T1 micro that its not a real T1. Those are made for airsoft and are fine for .22lr but if your going to use one for 3gun I would get a real one.

I did a thread on the real stuff vrs the clones. Like I said they can stand up to maybe .223 but I wouldn't go higher. Also the quality of the dot is lacking proper brightness in the daytime. But that was me...you may have different results.
Syndicate 812
wow the breaks look great on these, that's it I'm getting one! What was the process to do it like that? So can you use stock chokes? Just have to use the extension deal? I saw that adpater for the saiga to akdel and was wondering if it would just look janky.
