ec4321 113
20 bucks on their site. Need a donor mag.
jgillaspy 24
5 or 2 round donor magazine? The instructions page shows a 404 error.
ec4321 113
yup, i don't know. I am assuming the 5 rd, also looks like the 5rd in their pic to me. 20 bucks is a great price if they work properly, and you want to use the two mags it came with... Hell the base plates are 25... ispayboy 3
Would this be considered as parts for 922r compliance? I better get some... if it won't work properly I'll just sell them to ebay later on..... (possibly)... Edited November 17, 2012 by ispayboy

You might be able to count the base plate and the follower if it is US made. JG

ec4321 113
Hrrrm. Does this use the factory 5rd mag spring? Or does the kit come with a new spring?
KIRCH76 12
yep says right on there the factory spring works
james lambert 3,059
From my experience...and I have built many hundreds of 10rnd and above magazines. The factory spring is going to be less than adequate Jim

james lambert 3,059
Carolina Shooters carries the best spring made for use in 10rnd mags. That spring is a good choice for factory 10rnd mags as well. I don't think they are on his web site yet, but they are coming. Jim
ec4321 113
That's what I was concerned about. Thanks Jim. Total BS Salem6. Any spring that works properly for 10rds of 12 guage is too long for 5rd.

The factory spring is going to be less than adequate Jim I hope it works for them , but I agree with Jim, we put 2 factory springs together ,on our first prototype 13 rounder, then went to a Saiga mag spring. Which took some modding to get to work.
compshootfl 40
Just a heads up, Salem 6 is not great about communication when you buy something from them, I ordered some parts and have no idea if and when they have even shipped. They really need to work on this if they want happy customers.
pickpocket 3
Just a heads up, Salem 6 is not great about communication when you buy something from them, I ordered some parts and have no idea if and when they have even shipped. They really need to work on this if they want happy customers. What i dont like is the lack of info on most of the parts that are out. I like to read I like info I like specs I like reasons you made it this way I like to know everything about a part before i buy it. I really think a webpage that has info on it is a wonderful thing and some manufactures do that here.
compshootfl 40
Has anybody received their parts from Salem 6 yet...I'm still waiting...no communication...no tracking..nothing.
saiga1284 1
I ordered a couple extensions the day this thread started. No follow up email yet. I just hope I can get them to work when I do get them. Looks like ill have to get some springs at least, I'll try them with the factory springs first and report back. james lambert 3,059
In my humble opinion, A very key piece of technology is missing for this extension to work properly. I manufactured 500 gen 1 extensions that worked in a VERY similar fashion, although they were machined aluminum. Only after EXTENSIVE research and TESTING did I find the way to make them reliable, then and only then did I produce them. I am disinclined to share this technology... isma 0
Hi, Salem 6 post 2 videos on YouTube . They say the use 5 rd spring.
ec4321 113
Notice how in the video where they say 5rd mag spring the shots are very slow and methodical. The other video, granted, the guy rips off all 10rds very quickly -but it says prototype and for all I know that uses a longer spring. Be interesting to find out how reliably and fast these feed with the 5rd spring.

Redhunter2486 22
I wonder how generic the 10 rd spring is, its got to be the same size as one used for somthing else, no spring shops in town though...
ec4321 113
CSS has 10rd MKA springs, they are 20 bucks. That would bring the total conversion per mag to 40, plus your 5rd sacrifice mag. Getting close to the cost in a factory 10rd mag. Over it if you want to keep your 5rds.
Redhunter2486 22
Yea, I understand that, I'm saying $20 bucks for a spring is crazy though, hard to believe you couldn't find one somwhere that would work for like $2- I wouldnt order extensions unless I could find some springs that would work from somewhere else, cheaper
