Chainsaw 0
Will any brass catcher fit the Saiga 762x39mm. I have one from E&L Manf. for my M1 Carbine and it works great. Anyone use such a device?
LeadMonkey 0
I think I've seen one, a year ago some where on this forum . But I know the saiga deforms brass pretty bad which makes buying wolf a little less of a pain in the ass and cheap.
IndyArms 10,186
Keeping in mind the comment about brass being deformed in the saigas, to which I agree... and yeah, it makes reloading them very difficult... About the only reasons I can see for a brass catcher are as follows... 1... you want to collect the brass for the brass value, or to reload... 2... you want to keep the range free of debris. ( This one would be my personal choice...) I know where I shoot, theres always a TON of steel 7.62 casings all over the ground that never get picked up, that I have to rake up and take care of.... Bvamp 604
indy, just get an old lawn mover deck and make a powered magnet. roll it around, and no more steel cases. if its powerful enough it will pick up quite a lot of the brass and shotshell cases, because primers are magnetic as well. then you just unplug it, and it all just falls off the thing. cvasqu03 21
I have the regular AK rigid brasscatcher from E&L mfg, and have used it to collect my brass on a saiga. It's a great catcher, it snaps on and off easily, doesn't interfere with the functioning, and actually looks like it's an integral part of the gun when installed. I HAVE been able to reload my brass from Saigas, though I had to select which was usable and which wasn't after resizing them since some got more or less straightened out, while others had been so deformed that they didn't quite come out right. you can see the image here: E&L AK brasscatcher and you can check out their other catchers here: E&L Note: I do not work for them or have any tie with the company, but I've enjoyed using two of their products (AK & UZI brasscatchers). I admit, I was a little unimpressed with their 1911 and SKS brasscatchers, both of which make some sacrifices. Edited December 5, 2005 by cvasqu03

Cobra 76 two 2,677
I've seen some that were just a web mesh net kind of thing. Anyone ever use one of those?
cvasqu03 21
I've seen some that were just a web mesh net kind of thing. Anyone ever use one of those? I've seen them, but I've never tried one since I already use the E&L one. I'd be interested in getting one just to try out. One of the things I don't like about mine is that it does cause some noise when the spent casing goes into the reservoir, which I would imagine a mesh one wouldn't do. I'd be interested in hearing from anyone who's tried one.
