Shaved too much off mag catch

Just a tad too much. Some mags have a noticeable wobble. Its not much. I probably shaved off a 16th or less too much. Is this going to cause feeding problems?

 

Just asking because I would rather change it out before parkarizing

Test fire it with the mag that has the most slop. If it feeds ok, then it should be good. You can always swap it out if its not to your satisfaction prior to parking it.

It shouldnt but like Captain said. Find the mag with the most wobble. If it feeds fine, the rest should be too.  I dont suspect you will have a problem. Ive shot others with a good bit of wobble that didnt have issues.

Thats what I figured. Just pisses me off to have a perfect conversion, then make a mistake on the very last thing I did. I really do not think it will be a problem....there is much more slop in other AK variants I own and have shot.

With the 7.62, you have some room for error as far as up-and-down movement goes. It's the 5.45 and 5.56 models that really suffer if the catch is too short. I would say get it out to the range, or even just hand cycle some rounds through your mags.

let me save you a few bucks.. the Saigas are generally all paint over park. go buy a few cans of non chlorinated brake cleaner, and spray the rifle until the paint is gone. now it's parkerized.
