Ted Cruz: Obama is 'defiant and angry at the American people'

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) continues to argue that President Obama's forthcoming action on immigration is unconstitutional, writing in Politico that he is acting "like a monarch."

"He is defiant and angry at the American people," Cruz writes. "If he acts by executive diktat, President Obama will not be acting as a president, he will be acting as a monarch."

Obama will announce executive action on immigration in a speech Thursday night. Cruz suggests that Republicans respond by blocking virtually all judicial nominees and withholding funds for Obama's immigration plan by passing piecemeal government spending bills.

Impeach? we'd get Biden!

I know 6yr olds who have more going on than Biden, we would be safer2c.gif
I hate that video. It shows how vehemently the dems stick together, and refuse to allow anybody a rebuttal. So glad they don't enjoy that majority any longer.

The comparison of Firearms possession to child porn is so absurd. You can't have child porn without there being a victim (the child). You can't remove certain individuals fourth amendment rights without due process... Of course they don't give a shit. These debates are dog and pony show for the cameras.

Fuck fienstien, and the dems. I hope in the years before she dies she grows taste buds in her asshole

I love that video, Cruz by himself, ( SEE ANYONE IN HIS CORNER ) making complete FUCKING FOOLS out of them...!! What needs to happen in child porn/1st amendment argument and Cruz stuck to his argument...???

Cruz sits on the senate Judiciary Committee, anyone know why...??? Cuz the motherfucker knows the Constitution.!!!!

Cruz served as a law clerk to J. Michael Luttig of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit in 1995[13][44] and William Rehnquist, Chief Justice of the United States in 1996.[2] Cruz was the first Hispanic to clerk for a Chief Justice of the United States.[46]

Private practice

After Cruz finished his clerkships, he took a position with Cooper, Carvin & Rosenthal, which is now known as Cooper & Kirk, LLC, from 1997 to 1998.[47] While with the firm, Cruz worked on matters relating to the National Rifle Association

Hope you are right. I lost hope in him after he spewed shit going along with Obama's plan for the Ukraine. Maybe he just didn't have a clue. It would be nice if he was for real and not just trying to advance his political career by towing the line in words.

We shall see with his actions very soon. My gut tells me he's just another McCain.

I could be wrong. I have been wrong many times before.

From what I have read, His wife promoted the north american union and works with the CFR. She is an investment banker at Goldman Sachs and previously worked with JP Morgan and also the Bush administration.

His father is a Cuban who served the communist and Cruz himself was born in Canada.

No military service.

Born in the oil fields of Canada and moved to oil in Texas.

There is a lot of money to be made if you support the NRA. Good on ya for supporting our rights but it could be just smoke and mirrors to get millions for his run at being president.

Time will tell.

Sen Cruz has only been in office since January 3, 2013...

When Cruz took Feinstein and her crew of commies on about the anti 2nd Amendment legislation they wanted, he had only been in office for a little more than 2 months. Not bad for the Junior Senator from Texas

He is , in my opinion, THE REAL DEAL...

Ted Cruz's Father,

Cruz's father, who was born in 1939 in Matanzas, Cuba,[20][21] as Robert T. Garrett of the Dallas Morning News has described, "suffered beatings and imprisonment for protesting the oppressive regime"[20][25] of dictator Fulgencio Batista. He fought for Fidel Castro in the Cuban Revolution[26][27] when he was 14 years old, but "didn't know Castro was a Communist."[28] A few years later he became a staunch critic of Castro when "the rebel leader took control and began seizing private property and suppressing dissent."[20][29] The elder Cruz fled Cuba in 1957, two years before the revolution, at the age of 18, landing in Austin,[25]a Cuban émigré, to study at the University of Texas, knowing no English and with $100 sewn into his underwear.[30][31] His younger sister fought in the counter-revolution and was tortured by the new regime.[27] He remained regretful for his early support of Castro, and emphatically conveyed this remorse to his young son over the following years.[20][27] The elder Cruz worked his way through college as a dishwasher, making 50 cents an hour,[19] earning a degree in mathematics.[25] Cruz's father is a pastor in Carrollton, Texas,[18] a Dallas suburb, and became a naturalized U.S. citizen in 2005.[21] Cruz's mother was born and raised in Wilmington, Delaware

Ted Cruz explains dad’s Fidel Castro comment
By: Tal Kopan
December 5, 2013 06:44 AM EST

Sen. Ted Cruz said while there are some differences between President Barack Obama and former Cuban leader Fidel Castro, Obama is displaying “dictatorial” tendencies as president.

During an interview by Jorge Ramos on Fusion, the Texas Republican was asked about comments his father has made comparing Obama to Castro and whether the analogy was “fair” and if he’d like to draw a distinction between the two.

“Obviously, there are enormous differences; the United States is not imprisoning and torturing political dissidents,” Cruz said on Wednesday. “But the point my father was making, he was focusing on a sentence that President Obama used in the last two State of the Union addresses where he said, ‘If Congress doesn’t act, I will.’”

Cruz said the line shows how the Obama administration has displayed “disturbing” tendencies similar to a dictatorship.

(QUIZ: Do you know Ted Cruz?)

“One of the most disturbing aspects of the Obama presidency is the willingness of this president to disregard the law,” Cruz said, pointing to Obamacare. “If [Obamacare]’s the law of the land, the president shouldn’t keep ignoring the law. A president, under a constitutional system, doesn’t have the ability to pick and choose which laws to follow, and that’s the same pattern you see in dictatorial societies where the leader says, ‘Ignore the law. Go with the power of the president instead of the written law.’”

Cruz’s father, Rafael Cruz, fled Cuba and the Castro regime for the United States as a teenager.

In a July speech at FreedomWorks’s Free the People event, he drew comparisons between Obama and Castro.

“I think the most ominous words I’ve ever heard was in the last two State of the Union addresses, when our president said: ‘If Congress does not act, I will act unilaterally.’ Not much different than that old, bearded friend that I left behind in Cuba — governing by decree, by executive order, just like a dictator, like Fidel Castro,” Rafael Cruz said.

(Also on POLITICO: Cruz's dad rips RINOs, Obamacare)

Earlier in the speech, he also made an apparent reference to Obama’s populist 2008 campaign messages in reference to Castro.

“I grew up in Cuba under a strong, military, oppressive dictatorship. So as a teenager, I found myself involved in a revolution. I remember during that time, a young, charismatic leader rose up, talking about ‘hope’ and ‘change.’ His name was Fidel Castro,” Rafael Cruz said.
