Sdustin 579
Had anyone made one of the non nfa shotguns? Shockwave tech has what they call a raptor out to shorten the barrel and mag tube on a Mossberg or maverick 12 ga. Along with their pistol grip you can make your own non nfa shotgun with a 14" barrel. http://shockwavetechnologies.com/site/?page_id=2990
Sdustin 579
Really no one? I also saw a company called 802traders they sell an already built mossberg pistol grip with 14" for 600 and a rem 870 version for 650, I think I'll go that route so if I'm ever ask by mister popo I can say "get I bought it like that"
XdamagedX 248
I have an actual AOW and put the Raptor grip on it. It definitely reduces felt recoil. Although if one were trying to aim down the barrel, it makes it a little more difficult.
William M 4
Mossy just announced they are available from the factory with the Raptor Birdshead style grip, 14"ish bbl. for a over 26" non NFA length.

You lose ammo capacity. If it is easier to handle with a different angle on the grip why not just do that.
Sdustin 579
It doesn't lose any capacity and yes overall leangth isn't that much shorter. But it looks bad ass. And if I want a pistol grip shotgun I want it as handy as possible. And I just saw mossberg is going to be selling a 500 and 590 version with a 14" barrel, factory and in the video I saw it sounds like the 590 will have a 6 shot tube. Or the mossberg rep may have ment 6 shot overall capacity. The real reason is I don't hunt I use my guns for home and family defense and target shooting and just fun blasting. I want a new toy and I want it to be a shotgun. I've had a vepr 12 and those are cool. Just longer than I'd like without going NFA. If Mossberg starts selling the factory version soon I'll buy that one. And there is a company called 802traders that sells both the Mossberg and an 870 version. The 870 only holds 4 in the tube but standard express barrels will fit and I love the look of vent rib barrels cut down short so I haven't fully decided yet.

evlblkwpnz 3,418
For those in states where there is no SBS or AOW, I get it, but I wouldn't want to shoot one much. I'm just not a fan of not having a stock and manually cycling things.
gunfun 3,931
IMO it's a clumsy gun made clumsier to save about 2" If you want one of these get a serbu super shorty instead. $5 tax stamp and a decent trust and you are good to go.
sjgusmc21 850
I built this one the other day. VERY NICE!

But all those hoops to save what 5 inches? The beauty of this thing is no extra paper work.
