  1. It's a work in progress but here it is so far Here is a pic of my meticulously handcrafted FS/GB It started out a blob of welded crap and I carved it to shape with a carbide burr and some small diamond files.I have also leveled the RSB and FS/GB square to the receiver with bubble levels and bigger cross pins and will use a laser bore sighter to confirm before finishing the rifle. Current Upgrades: Dinzag's Handguard Retainer AK100 forend(bored out to fit and S308 barrel) Custom Grip 18" Barrel turned and threaded 14x1LH Custom FS/GB New in wrap AK74 Gas Tube Modified
  2. There's no Saiga 223 on the previous page in this thread, repost or link perhaps?
  3. PKMs and Negev light machineguns are basically upside down Kalashnikovs with a belt feed mechanism...
  4. Brad's a Democrat though and while fine to play the Dixiecrat of 40 years ago while in state politics will turn commie in a flash when taken to the federal level and with many of his supporters wanting him to make a senate bid he could trade very heavily on the immigration issue with Okies while doing heaven knows what to our gunrights and privacy concerns.
  5. I'm already working on a Saiga 308 feed tower for the 7.62 betmag that I preordered several months ago
  6. It's a low impulse round that won't operate our regular Saigas so.. The time for the Saiga-12P is here" I'd definitely keep one of those Taser Slugs as the first round in my home defense shotgun! I's sure rather Taser someone and hold them at gunpoint than kill them if given the option and if it doesn't work then the next round being a full 3in Mag full of #4 Buckshot certainly would and I would know that I did all I could to avoid taking a human life in a confrontation..
  7. These are examples of the type of stabilization and weight balance are required when there is no rifling to impart centrifugal stabilization.
  8. Chamber could have a burr, groove or depression in it or your headspace could be too tight causing the case to become really sealed in there or too loose causing gas to flow around the case making it sticky upon extraction. I had an FN that stuck cases and would just stay closed and the problem turned out to be that I got some diamond compound in there and etched the chamber very minutely. You could polish your chamber with a jag,low speed drill and some very fine polishing compound but I'd check my chamber for flaws first..
  9. It won't stabilize without adding a felt tail or fins for drag since there is not rifling and it's tail heavy.Maybe a streamer type tail would do the trick?
  10. Oh my that's a smoking hot idea!! How far back would it stick on a regular AK?
  11. Bolt and carrier mass does not adversely impact accuracy or a PSG1 wouldn't be a sub MOA rifle.Inconsistent pressures on the barrel from the handguard and from the piston coming to rest in the gas block as well as uneven pressures stored in the barrel from tightly pressed on parts is what causes an AK problems in the accuracy department. if the piston can come to rest more consistently and with less pressure you have licked 50% of the problem with handguard pressure being made consistent or relived being another 25% and finally relieving the stress placed in the barrel during manufacture(p
  12. "Unfortunately, Moore is also a con man of a very brazen sort, and never more so than in this film" -Kurt Loder
  13. I ditch that crap and put E-clips on my axis pins and the thread the holes, turn screws through them from the inside and mill or grind off the excess of the protruding screws and viola.. E-clips
  14. Take that massive spring out of your short magazine and look at it,it is stiffer and has more coils than a USGI M14 magazine spring.
  15. The original point of using the ejection port buffer is to protect the top cover but my use leans more towards protecting the valuable reloading brass(ie no creases). You idea while clever really doesn't sound like it would accomplish the same end but it would keep you from having to debrass and refinish your top cover though. That part should cost closer to $5 than $45 but then again if you had a collectable Valmet you'd want the authentic article,I guess. I think I will make one out of a piece of black poly suspension bushing material and screw it onto the top cover since I have a
  16. Why don't you do it yourself? All of the parts can be had from vendors right off of this board and the end result will cost you far less. Unless I wanted the weapon stripped and refinished or didn't have the capability to turn and thread a barrel I'd definately do it myself vs paying someone to do it for me. Dinzag has many of the parts needed in the for sale forum and Battlerifle G3 has some awsome wood or you can just order the US made plastic and an RSA adjustable trigger and you'd have a fine rifle and have the satisfaction of having built it yourself.
  17. #1 I am a privacy freak and that is why I keep moving further and further out in the country as things like traffic cams become more commonplace even in insignificant Bergs. #2 I have watched the Alphabet Boys at work and giving them an excuse to identify me as a gun owner and whatever they want to connect with that.Yes they do pin crimes on innocent people just because they don't like their politics and I know they would hate mine. #3 I can get a signature in 30 minutes and I can afford a tax stamp but I don't really want to own somethign that I can't transport across state lines wit
  18. If I were "threatening" I would say somthing like "I'll split your God Damned wig!!" but I don't make promises unless I know for sure that I will be able to keep them but I know when someone is doing something stupid and will regret it whether I am the one who makes it regrettable or not is a moot point I'm one of the few people on this site or any other that will show up for an ass whippin but just to keep it legal and keep me from getting in trouble I offer any of you fuckers the first swing if you will show up within a day's drive of Rapid City South Dakota Ok,
  19. Got to be sneaky with those intruders guys,if you can get a bead on a scumbag that is trying to get into your house and not let him know you are there then you don't have to expose yourself to the threat and can take them out the second they penetrate if that was your intention. I will say that there have been a few cases where LE didn't properly identify themselves and got popped both by homeowners and other LE and they were totally defensible in court but if you chopped up a livingroom full of them with your AK it might put you in kind of a negative light when it went before the man
  20. You drum retards are having fun right now but the first cocksucker to get my Saiga Reclassified a DD and give the BATFAGs a free pass to come into my life are going to fucking regret it and that's a fact.I go to a lot of damned trouble and jump through a lot of hoops to keep them out of my life and when my USAS12 got reclassified as a DD while I was stuck overseas I had to come home and cut the thing up on a bandsaw to the tune of $1200 and only got $800 out of the remaining parts kit.I don't want a tax stamp and I don't want my damned shotgun to become a DD so why don't you and those wraith b
  21. I use the same Brownells crown facing tool as Dinzag with great results.Merely running a 90 degree followed by a 45 degree on an otherwise untouched weapon can significantly shrink group size on milsurp rifles and with different sized pilots you can do every caliber under the sun from .17-50AE. I like the standard HK91/G3 length of just under 18 inches. It gives me something that looks almost like the 16in carbine but with full threads beyond the front sight base.
  22. 2MOA can hit a torso sized target at 800M so who's using MBRs in a way that wouldn't be handled easily by the S308 with halfway decent bulk ammo?
  23. The Saiga rifle is heavier than the VEPR? I didn't know that.I have held both of them and the VEPR seemed so much heavier I assumed it was the barrel making the VEPR feel so porky! You learn something new everyday, thanks Dinzag..
