  1. Are ya'll forgetting you can have ONE feature. If you want a fixed 8rd magazine its ok, but no pistolgrip. Same goes for the tube. Ive seen plenty of Benellies with 6-9rd tube mag extensions without the pistol grip. They are perfectly legal. Also Bvamp, I've competed in plenty of 3 gun matches with my 870 with a 7rd tube mag. Some competitors have retarded looking shotguns that have 20" barrels and 7shot extentions (total of 10-11rds). Once again people read the laws, there is a difference between knowing the rules and understanding them!
  2. I talked with a company who sells class 3 weapons and among other things 8rd magazines for the Saiga, and he said that he had at one point some saiga mags for sale, (with the saiga-12 K) but only to LEO and FFL holders. He said that they were difficult to import but not because of customs or BATF laws and also that he wouldn't have any problem transfering them to me and because I have an FFL. I asked if I could check back later and he said that would be fine because he might get some if the demand was there. So hopefully, hope, hope, I can get some. I also mentioned the 94' ban and if he
  3. Well, the saiga shotgun is kinda funny looking itself.
  4. Wow, Bvamp, you actually submitted suportive documentation instead of "its illegal" B.S. Good job. But, hopefully, later on this year most of that crap won't mean very much with the expiration of the 94 ban (hope hope) Whoopie!
  5. Thats a very good point. I don't think I could live without my 3" mag loads.
  6. Here's an idea, make one end to adapt to the Saiga and keep the other end USAS 12 compatible!
  7. Caliber to caliber is fine, caliber to "gauge" isn't, but thats just my guess. Ya they have rifles that are gauge calibers, but they are old single or double barrel rifles that use black powder, and fire a huge chunk of lead. And sure, AR-15s have been altered to fire all kinds of cartriges: .300 whisper, .50 AE, 9x19, 7.62x39, .308 in the form of the AR-10/SR-25, even .50 BMG, but never a "gauge." All the AR-15 caliber conversions fire one bullet at a time, not 12 pellets at a time. The conversions for the AR-15 were ment to expand the capability of the "rifle", and granted, making a 12 ga
  8. I believe the pre-ban/post-ban receiver idea only works on rifles. Changing the receiver wont change the fact that it is a shotgun. Therefore pre-ban or post-ban doesn't matter, a semi-auto shotgun with two or more features is illegal. Nice try though.
  9. Its so over priced though. You can go to CDNN and get a 19" Saiga for $270, pick up the right parts for about $100, and convert it yourself with a little elbow grease and effort and end up saving so much money, thats what I did.
  10. I'll be sure to give MJ a nice bootin but, I don't think it will compare to anything he'll get if he ends up going to "pound-me-in-the-a$$-prison," he deserves it though. Dianne Feinstein eh? Not a bad idea, she and her goons must have some if she plans to try and push a new bill after 94' awb sets, she would have to have sample pieces to evaluate to add to the new awb list. But then again, I hate bringing politics into my life, especiallly when I have no money, and you know how money makes all the sway in politics. Probably better to keep it on the down low for now. I take it you don'
  11. Don't worry, I plan to share.
  12. Hey, Hey, Hey!!! Wait a minute! I was the one who pointed out the detachable mag idea! I should get the credit! And if I had some ten round magazines I would parade around in front of the ATF building an show them what I got! But I don't have any magazines that hold ten rounds... ...Yet. I'm gonna try to get the "hook-up" on the eight round mags thru a contact of my father. This guy I'm gonna talk to is a German Spec Ops person who does business with my father. He gets his hands on everything: MINIMIs, G36s, FN-P90s, special ammunition and magazines. He sent my dad some special amm
  13. Yes, some ak parts will fit, but unless you are trying to move the trigger forward, some parts will have to be modified due to the way EAA had to originally modify the trigger for import. Its a bit of a hassel to mill small, tempered triggers, sears, and catches, if you know what I mean. If you are trying to improve the trigger it would probably be easier to move it forward to begin with. If you choose to go that route, you will also have the option to attach a thumb-hole stock, or a regular pistol grip and stock, if you're brave.
  14. Don't get frustrated BattleRifle, Bvamp is talking out of his a$$ again. I've just gotten used to his nonsense ramblings and ignore his posts. I award him the A$$ Clown award for this forum - Awarded in excellence in not knowing what the hell he is talking about, making some BS comment, pissing people off, or just plain being an idiot. Yes Bvamp, lets submissively follow all the laws so they may make more till we are no longer able to own guns, what a genious idea. You should move to Britain.
  15. The way I understand the laws, It is ok to have magazines in excess of 5 rounds on a saiga. Because as Gaddis stated (3) a fixed magazine capacity in excess of 5 rounds; and (4) an ability to accept a detachable magazine The Saiga only applies to the ability to accept a detachable magazine. Because the other law says a FIXED magazine capacity in excess of 5 rounds, the saiga does not have a fixed magazine, therefore can have more than 5 rounds. But, the ban also says that you cannot modify high capacity magazines or similar magazines to work with guns unless they were done prior to
  16. It seem that the BATF like to leave things open at their discretion. They like to leave alot of issues unaddressed until it really becomes and real issue. Its alot like the thumbhole grip we've all been debating about. They give us some iffy reply and we can't make heads or tails of it. In this case they can deam anything anything. There are some qualifications that put rifles in the rifle category, and shotguns in the shotgun category. Ususally its common sense but there are the exceptions. Rifles usually have a rifled bore, fire one projectile, require two sights, and are ment for long
  17. I know that I wont keep my mags loaded for long periods of time. The mags them selves are plastic, and bend and flex more easily than metal. Saltpeter has been having jamming problems and it could be that having his mags loaded for long periods of time have streched the lips of the mag causing the shells to slip to fast, to early causing them to get caught on the upper part of the barrel. As for mag springs being over compressed, it takes a long time, and I mean a LONG time. I have a high capacity 9mm mag and kept it fully loaded for months and when it came time to shoot, the last few roun
  18. I've done the pistolgrip conversion, it was quite easy I might add, and the slidestop does not interfere with the grip. I think that the slidestop is in a very accessible location, with the exception that the stock slidestop on my saiga rubs against my trigger finger and creates blisters. This has happend twice and each time it only requires a few mags to make the blister start happening. I use tactical gloves(complements to blackhawk) for shooting my saiga and it helps alot. I would recomend the slidestop parts at the saiga-12 website, they apear to be better for the pistolgrip conversion
  19. I have a bayonet on my 870. As well as a heatshield, pistolgrip speed feedstock, recoil reducer, magazine extention, and combat sling. Im gonna put a rail on it too so i can mount a reflex sight on it. As for my saiga im gonna put a pistol grip on it regardless of the law, and im gonna trim the barrel down to eight-teen inches (including the choke (gonna weld that sucker on (like ar barrels with the long flash suppressors))), as well as make some high capacity magazinesfor it. Assault weapon ban sucks. Patriot Act sucks. Patriot act 2 will suck. Any other bans, laws, restrictions are go
  20. I just got my s-12 from CDNN and in the catalog I also spotted a laser optic called the collimator, thats the one im gonna get. A Russian sight on a Russian gun.
