  1. +1 on the everything I know about Saiga I learned here. I'm in the Black Diamond area. Always looking for good places to shoot.
  2. Sadly Captain Freeman wasn't awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor until 2001. Certainly this did not diminish his heroic status to the many men that he saved and their famlies who might not have been, except for the selfless bravery of his actions. I hope his post military life was good. He sure as hell deserved it. the actual citation reads; http://www.mishalov.com/Freeman.html
  3. I have a Liberty "Presidential". It is a great safe except, the interior racks and shelves are fabric covered particle board. I leaned on one of the racks trying to reach a rifle in the back and actually cracked the particle board. Ended up replacing all of the racks and shelves with some good plywood. Acquired a new router in the process though.
  4. Why leave a chamber empty? How about a 44 mag for the same niche, or a 44 Bulldog? I leave a chamber open to rest the hammer on. There is no decocker on the Judge, and I won't carry cocked and locked on the tractor. If I had a 44 mag or 44 Bulldog, I would not be shooting shotshells through it.
  5. The Judge does have a niche. It is a great tractor gun. Not to big to holster (leave one chamber empty), great for rodents #4 shot 15-20 ft.
  6. I have an occasional rat under my chicken coop. We are unincorporated, but have neighbors close enough that I can't shoot a great deal. not that it isn't legal, I just don't want to freak out the neighbors. I use sub-sonic 22LR 910 fps for my rat buddies. The report is louder than a pellet gun but not by much. The downside is that it won't cycle any semi-auto so you are effectively using a single shot 22. Set up with a night scope, this method has been deadly.
  7. S-12 is only #3 goto. I always have my 1911 within 2 steps, and a loaded PPS-43 behind the door, S-12 actually does some safe time. If I go out shooting the S-12 always goes though.
  8. FN 5.7 IOM without a doubt. First 20 rounds 3 in @ 25 Ft., once the barrel is hot the pattern triples in size. Looks like #4 birdshot from a 10" bbl .410. Its getting a lot of safe time, I think it needs some gunbroker time.
  9. Dead rats are every bit as popular as dead coyotes at my house. Wish the coyote had a taste for them, but they divert to chickens quickly
  10. Just recieved my forearm in the mail today. Iniial impression,, what a great job on the machine work. There was not a burr on it nor a blemish on the anodizing (It appears to be anodized anyhow.) Mounted on the gun it looks totally kickass. You wont see a picture until I get an internal reciever block from ace or msa or someone pplease. Anyway just wanted to coompliment the fine job. Doug
  11. Thanks Wolverine, PM recieved and replied to.
  12. Hi Folks, New poster here, but I have read and learned a lot from this forum. I have a question I haven't found an answer for yet. Where can I get a Bolt hold open? My newer Saigas (12 & 308) came with this part. I picked up an older 410 (imported by Kalashnikov USA) that doesn't have this feature. I would like to install one if I can find one. Is it the same part as the Saiga 12? Who carries these?
