  1. You forgot: Step 2.5. - "Break f**king tap off in the hole." & Step 2.6 - "Exclaim 'F**k it!' and use JB weld instead."
  2. I got started on this last night. So far, it's not feeding the last 3 of 15 rounds reliably (cycled by hand). But, I still need to reshape the last spring coil, although I left mine a bit longer than yours. I also need to smooth the cuts on the follower, there's still all kinds of burrs hanging off it. I'm sure that doesn't enhance reliability.
  3. Here's what happened when I used JB Weld to hold in my Dinzag bullet guide: A similar fate may await you...
  4. I don't know about the thread dimensions, but they are RIGHT hand threads.

  6. Damn, that was a good idea. I'll definitely be doing this.

  9. Today we went to Adairsville Sporting range in Adairsville, GA to wring out the rifles a bit. I took pics: On the rifle range, there are berms at 25, 50 and 100yds Hardware: My friend's recently converted Saiga: My Saiga: The view up range: A bad place to hide: JB weld did not do a very good job holding my bullet guide in place (it's properly installed now): Very strange jam on the 10/22: There are two kinds of muzzle blasts... The kind you can see: And the kind you can't (look at the expended brass in t
  10. Oh sure, put your marriage ahead of our needs for 15-round magazines. That's fine, we see how it is
  11. Can you post pics of your modded follower, or tell us how much you trimmed it?
  12. I think that modding the rifle is the best way to go. That way you can use any AK mags you happen to find. Just grind down the front edge of your factory Saiga mag so it will fit with the bullet guide. It's helpful to have a 10-rounder when shooting from a bench rest.
  13. I'm not trying to be a d!ck, but you really should go over the 4 rules with your friends that are novice shooters. It could be YOUR life that it saves.
  14. No eye & ear protection? tisk tisk
  15. I didn't use the factory hammer. I modified the Tapco hammer to accommodate the BHO.
  16. The 3 bulgies I got from AIMsurplus last year are painted with plastic followers. They work just fine.
  17. Nice video. One suggestion: The instructions that come with the Tapco G2 set show a trick to installing the hammer. One wraps the "legs" of the spring up around the top of the hammer. That way, one does not have to fight the tension of the hammer spring while installing the axle pin. After you install the trigger/disconnector, just use needle nose pliers to release the hammer spring legs onto the trigger. Also, why did you use the Dinzag modified FCG if you weren't going to reinstall the BHO?
  18. Looking sporty with the factory mag: Looking scary with a 30 rounder:
  19. You might want to familiarize yourself with the story of the Akins Accelerator. The pertinent facts can be found in this complaint filed by the inventor against the BATFE and the FedGov: http://www.georgiapacking.org/docs/akins/C...th_exhibits.pdf Basically, the BATFE told him his stock design (not to different from yours) was not a machine gun, so he went into full production and began shipping units to customers. Later, the BATFE decide that they now figured it IS a machine gun and he has to stop production and all his customers now have illegal machine guns on their hands.
