  1. Well, Agent Lemon, all I could offer is pictures of that rivet, but no specific guidance on the best way to install it. Of course, on the SGL21 that I reguarly fire, I've installed a Tapco G2 trigger group, so that rivet sits there unused.
  2. Imo, it depends entirely on the range of likely shots; which is situation-dependent. I love my S-308, (~22" barrel, converted, modded K-Var handguards, Bonesteel Galil RS folder with an Enidine buffer tube and Magpul CTR stock), but for shots up to ~300 yrds against specifically 2-legged targets, I'd pick the x39 over the x51 every time. ymmv.
  3. I shoot Russian ammo almost exclusively, in both 7.62x39 and x51. I've had zero problems, and doubt that I ever will. Kalashnikov pattern rifles, (in all calibers), chew through steel-cased ammo greedily, unlike AR rifles.
  4. Quick update on the beautiful Bulgy blonde ; I've got a milled fsb secured, (even more old-school than the cast one she came with), and will have that installed shortly. She also came with the original Bulgarian military sling, (od green w/ brown leather and steel), and I recently picked up an unissued 47-type Bulgarian bayo with dark bakelite grip panels. Whichever communist slave assembled it back in the day did a good job: Once everything's in place, (soon), I'll get some great new pics up, including pics of groups, (so far I've gotten ~1MOA at 50yrds, offhand).
  5. I'll get ya a proper range report, (one with pics of groups), as soon as she gets "de-banned" with a new fsb. It won't be too long.
  6. btt, price lowered a bit to $410 shipped. I'm also looking to potentially trade this toward a post-ban KBI Hungarian SA-85M rifle, either new or with very few rnds fired.
  7. Looks like another excellent Tromix product.
  8. So what's wrong with having another quality pump in the stable? If you bought this one, once you fired it; I think you'd find yourself selling the Mossy 500.
  9. I've got a double-hook AK trigger.. in a rifle and receiver that was designed for it; my SA M-7 Classic. The reason this rifle uses it is because that was the standard commie design back in the 50's when milled receiver AKs were the norm. One of the design refinements the Russkies introduced with the AKM was the single-hook trigger. The only reason that they were double-hook in the first place was for redundancy, but over a decade of hard military use, they discovered that the second hook really was unnecessary and eliminated it. For a modern Kalashnikov pattern long gun; e.g. the S-
  10. C'mon, ya bastids, someone here's gotta have a use for this as one of their HD firearms. This'd look a lot less eeevil if ever held up in court by the prosecutor than your S-12 would. And of course, everything's negociable. I'm not looking for trades, (need the $), but all reasonable offers will be considered.
  11. One other thing to consider, which backs up Zen's thoughts on the subject re-posted above. Does any Saiga sporter have a trunnion with the Izhmash arsenal mark, (military side of the house), ? e.g.: (one of my SGL21s, with the finest parts fit of any stamped AK I've ever seen)
  12. Well, I hate to do it, but I think I need to sell my Winchester 1300 Defender pump-action 12-ga. This one was made in New Haven, CT, (before they closed that factory), and has ~20 shells total fired. It is in excellent shape: The gun holds 8 in the tube and 1 in the pipe. With the Side Saddle receiver-mounted shell carrier, you've got another 6 ready to go, and with the Allen nylon stock-mounted shell carrier, you've got an additonal 5, so fully-loaded in this configuration, you've got 20 12-ga shells either in/on the gun. Not too shabby. I've also installed a model
  13. Yes, you probably could, lol. They are harmless though. I don't even think they can bite, they don't feed their entire adult life. Fuckin weird. I guess if they don't sting/bite, (and they stay out of my house/truck), I don't need to annihilate them. Looks more like a handle to me. I'd like to catch a few of these live and stick em ass first into some dense foam or something...
  14. That looks like some kind of wasp-on-a-stick. Couldn't you just grab em and hold em by the giant stinger while you roast their heads/bodies with a lighter?
  15. Thanks Shandlanos, but those are the cast steel ones. I'm looking for the earlier milled steel type, (which are more rare, it seems). If you look at this pic, you'll be able to see the slight difference. Milled is on the left, cast on the right: K-Var does sell brand-new cast ones. In fact, they're so new that the pin-holes haven't even been drilled, (a little PITA), and of course they want top dollar for em, (~$35 + K-Var's usual shipping charge rapage for small items).
  16. I suggest you get one of these: Since I picked up a couple a few weeks ago, they've become weapons of mass insect destruction. I've fried everything from gnats to big ol wasps with it. The larger the bug, the more entertaining it is as the racket barbeques their guts and destroys their bodies.
  17. You were wrong. You used "that" when you should have used "who". Anyway, I have indeed fired a couple over the years. They're nice pistols, but as I said, definitely overpriced.
  18. Nah, imo "the people that(sic) say they are overpriced" are fuckin right. If H&K had the balls to make a solid 10mm Auto model, I might be interested.
  19. undertoad, that is some excellent work!! I look forward to the finished rifle.
  20. Sure, if you wanted a Glock that would regularly jam.
  21. I'm looking for a Bulgarian AK-47 milled fsb in excellent shape, (new old stock preferred). Please contact me via pm if you've got one to sell. Thanks.
  22. Good Lord, some of you people obsess over this. No one has ever been charged with violating 922®. If anyone ever is, it will be a "tack-on" charge, just another one they can throw at someone whos' facing far more serious shit. If you want to save your receipts, you can, but that's entirely unnecessary. Most US-made parts will have "US", (or similar), somewhere on them. Some do not. Most foreign parts, (except the receiver, barrel, bolt, bolt carrier), are not marked as such. Most ATF agents will have no idea wtf they're looking at anyway, and probably aren't too familiar wi
  23. Oops, I put this in the wrong place. I will repost in the WTB sub-forum. Mods, please delete this thread.
  24. So this guy doesn't like Glock's excellent slide finish, (used to be even better, but the new finish is gtg), he's too incompetent to use the standard slide serrations to charge the pistol, and he can't figure out how to grip it properly. It's an amusing video, though. I don't worship Glocks, but I do like em. They're great pistols, especially for the price, imo.
