  1. I've got one converted Saiga 12, one converted Saiga 7.62x39 and one stock Saiga 7.62x39, One VEPR 7.62x39, One VEPR 5.45x39. I figure 5 AKs is decent enough, but if I get one more it will either be a Krinkov or an AMD AK, or maybe an underfolder. If they all get banned, I'll be upset but still happy with what I have.
  2. California has the same problem as NY. There are literally millions of good, conservative, pro 2nd amendment, republicans spread out throughout the state, but it is the rich, powerful, liberals in Socal and San Francisco area that somehow drown out all the other areas of California. That is why there are many parts of CA in the North that have literally been trying to suceed from the state.
  3. That is the only reason I sold the mags.
  4. Man, grow some cajones and do your own work, Saigas are the best AK for the money. Convert it to a pistol grip, add AK style handguards, etc. Don't complain because you don't have the skills to do some simple work. Sorry, but I'm very fond of the Saiga AKs. Go try a SAR-1 or WASR and then shoot the saiga. Complete difference in quality and accuracy.
  5. I did sell 3 unmodified USAS-12 mags a few weeks ago. What you have to do is slighty trim about 1mm of material off the top of the mag because it is just barely too wide to fit in the magwell. Drill the rivets holding on the stock mag catch and cut it in half, pop-riveting it higher up so that the Saiga catch can latch on. And it also needs a front lip fabriacted to pivot on in the front of the mag. I haven't performed these mods before, but this is what I was told to do and it looks like it wouldn't be very hard. BTW, these are both real pictures that were posted here on the forums a
  6. Man, just convert it yourself and put that money towards a nice ACE skeleton stock. It's really not hard to convert and that company didn't even weld/cover up the rear trigger holes. I would have spent that money elsewhere. I was able to convert my Saiga 12 on my kitchen table in my apartment. All you need is a dremel tool and a drill.
  7. Ya, CDNN hasn't carried the 19" model for the past 6 months, but it was $269.
  8. CDNN used to have the 19" defense model with adjustable chokes for $269. That is what I paid for my 19" Saiga 12 used.
  9. What I meant was...what do you have to file? The grooves in the rail? The length? The mounting holes? What?
  10. Mrapathy2000, When you say that filing is necessary, what do you mean? Is the mount you have the same as the "airsoft" mounts on Ebay?
  11. You would be much better off using 10 round stick mags from a USAS-12. I just sold 3 of them on this board two weeks ago. Cheaper too.
  12. All Saiga rifles and shotguns will have the trigger hole because even the stock Saiga trigger group needs the hole for clearance so it can pivot and release the hammer. Saiga shotguns do not have the pistol grip hole, you have to cut one (I did). Both of my Saiga 7.62x39 rifles have the pistol grip hole already cut in them.
  13. I didn't measure, but some say .571", some say .565"
  14. I used WJM's kit from gunsnet in 14x1mm LH. I used a dremel tool only on both barrel shrouds, I wish I didn't cut the first one all the way to the FSB, but I think you're right that I could get a piece of pipe or something to cover it up. The second one I just cut with a dremel tool after marking my line. Just go slow. I nicked the barrel on the first one twice but it turned out just fine because the die cuts a lot of material off the Saiga's slightly larger barrel diameter. Yes, you should use some type of oil when cutting both to cut down on friction and heat.
  15. First one I cut like mrapathy2000 did, all the way to the FSB, WHICH IS A MISTAKE. The Saiga has too much barrel sticking out in front of the FSB, so the second one I cut about 5/8 of the way to the FSB and I think it looks much, much better, looks factory. Threading was very easy one I had cut off the barrel shroud, that is the hardest part because you have to be careful not to cut too far or you cut into the barrel. If you don't cut deep enough you will never get the barrel shroud off, it is really bonded to the barrel or something, there is no way ou could just cut and slide it off the e
  16. Assassin, I agree with Rock47 and I mean no offense, but that is why I ordered from Oleg, because I was able to get my Saiga 12 magazines for $68/each shipped. The exchange rate might be worse now, but I would have ordered through you if they were just $15-$20 cheaper. Maybe Oleg is able to sell them cheaper because he buys in quantity, hence a cheaper price. Anyways, I wish you luck and appreciate you helping out the Saiga community.
  17. 5.45 may be hard to find locally sometimes, but every mailorder place and every gunshow has tons of it and cheap too.
  18. I was trying to decide if I should go with a .223 Saiga or a 5.45x39 VEPR K and this just decided it. I'd rather use cheap 5.45 magazines that won't require me to experiment with different feedramps in a .223 Saiga. I didn't have any trouble installing my 7.62x39 feedramp, but it sound like the Saiga .223 is much harder to "tune" just right.
  19. $39/each. http://www.eaacorp.com/parts/Magazines/smag.shtml
  20. http://www.eaacorp.com/parts/Magazines/smag.shtmlbut for $45/each, I'm not going to buy a .308 now. RAPE!!!!!
  21. Sweet! So Krebs finally re-released their new and improved rear sight?
  22. post a link to his website or give us his contact info
  23. USMC_LB, did you have to trim down the width of the hammer to get the BHO to fit? I haven't tried mounting mine and haven't had any trouble inserted loaded mags or loading a round by hand directly into the chamber while holding the bolt back.
  24. when I ordered off the webpage, I didn't get any confirmation or email. In fact, two weeks later I emailed Oleg and he said they were waiting for more mags to arrive. Then they charged my card and shipped them out the next day. Just trust them, they are ordered I'm sure.
