  1. You gave everyone a -1 for not giving you advice on this. OK, here it is. Fuck her, and the horse she rode in on. Shame on her for letting politics interfere with your friendship, and thank your maker that she has revealed herself for the shallow piece of shit she is. Not because she is liberal, but because your friendship is strictly one sided, and she isn't worth the energy you have put into grieving the loss of the relationship. Here's my advice. Find friends who love and accept you for who you are, and could give a flying fuck what your politics are. Tough love disclaimer: As far a
  2. I for one feel that the nuclear non-proliferation tactics employed by the U.S. are partly responsible for the anti-U.S. sentiment worldwide. Nukes are bad, I agree. They are like the machineguns of the bomb world. The U.S., however, would never think about laying down her nukes completely. The U.S. is entitled to self defense, afterall. Since many nations are "of the people" such as ours, a nation's right to defense is the people's right to defense. Our very own papers state that every man was created equal and thus has the right to bear arms for defense. In the case of nations,
  3. I had a liberal girl friend and one time at a dinner at her parents' house she told me "my aunt is a super liberal, don't say these things in front of her". I answered her that if she is so liberal she should be liberal enough to her my side instead of living in a dream world. But liberalism is a mental illness where the power hungry want to impose their idiotic ideology on us. They are the biggest closed minded fascists around who try to shut you up when they don't agree with what you say. They will listen to the most extreme leftist and Islamic fascist but G-d forbid that they listen to
  4. nein, lol Alles klar. Viel Spass mit dem Waffenumbau! WS
  5. Check. Bist du echt ein Fallschirmjaeger? WS
  6. I have installed a number of the Tromix trigger guards on my builds. They are specifically engineered for the SAW grip. You may want to order both, compare the construction, and if it doesn't work, send it back and just use the SAW grip the trigger guard is designed to accommodate. You can order the stock separately if you prefer it. WS
  7. Looks like we agree on this one, warthog. I find that as long as the gas system is right, the OEM puck is perfect. I'm beginning to think that the gas system in general needs to be better understood. Sorry I won't be able to join you and the other Saiga freaks at the Waffle House for some eggs and grits. Cheers! WS
  8. Whoa! Tony... Easy buddy. You're gonna give this poor guy a complex. Tony does have a point about reading the instructions.... His DIY trigger guard is engineered to use the following grip http://www.cabelas.com/p-0067322229861a.shtml Just return the generic AK grip and use the Tapco grip in the link above. Good luck with your conversion. WS
  9. Seems odd. The company appears to be selling everything it can produce as fast as it can get its products out the door. I'd love to be in that position. Lots of things could be at the root of the bankruptcy filing - Too many contracts in Ruble denominations coupled with rapid currency depreciation, fraud, corruption, mismanagement, tax and benefit rates - who knows? Maybe we'll just have to start producing AK shotguns right here in the good old USA. We already make standard AK parts to replace practically any part of an AK. Producing an entire AK 12 gauge just doesn't seem like it would be
  10. I haven't used a Tromix folding stock on my conversions, so I can't say. Personally, I like the Tapco composite folding stock. It's reasonably priced, stable, installs easily, works well and has a lifetime guarantee. I toss out the whimpy OEM screws, drill and tap for heavy duty torque screws, mount the stock and forget about it. Cobra's gas tube cover is very tacticool (My thoughts are with him today). I haven't used it on one of my guns, but I like the way it looks. For me, less is more - so I do my own forend mods, leave the sights as they are, and concentrate on polishing the inte
  11. The best advice I can give is to pay close attention to what is going under the hood. The action (receiver components) and gas system are the most important part of the conversion. At the end of the day, performance is what separates a really good gun from an average gun. As far as what you want to put on the outside, the sky is the limit. I prefer a functional approach, less is more, but more can be more as well. It's all a matter of taste. For a first timer, I would recommend a drop in Tromix fire control group, and a Tromix trigger guard kit. Before you do anything, make sure y
  12. Seems unusual. Looks like it may have hit the lip at the back of the gas chamber. I would go in with a flashlight and check both sides. Hows well is it secured to the bolt carrier? Do you have extra play there?
  13. Ah... you finish snobs.... Always have something better, more superior. I actually have the equipment to hard chrome plate steel. Know why I don't? Cause for me its a waste of time and money. If hi temp paint is good enough for Izhmash, its good enough for me. And, Duplicolor is damned good hi temp gun paint! C'mon you guys, the notion that the other guys AK is "less than" because they are using paint is nonsense. Use whatever makes you happy, but don't crap all over everyone else in the process. WS
  14. By profession, I'm a gold ,silver, and metalsmith. You can't silver solder HK sights on your gun without skewing the temper of the steel of your gun around the areas being soldered. If your gun is good with the existing steel sights - if it ain't broke don't fix it. If you need better optics, consider a scope. MHO WS
  15. Assuming you can see all the gas ports, hook the end of a paperclip and ream out the gas ports. Residue on the puck between cleanings is normal. If there's garbage in the gas exchange chamber just empty it out. You may need a warranty gas system service. Call Cadiz gun works for more info. Good luck, WS
  16. Goddam right - it sounds EXACTLY like the last 8 years! Can you give me one example where president Bush told a protester of any sort to shut up? I think you would be even hard pressed to find a fringe Republican who told protester to shut up. Can you name any republican regulations, policy, or legislation the was implemented or proposed in the last 8 years to limit free speech? How about Department of homeland security briefing labeling average Americans as terrorist for protesting and owning guns? Wops, that was president Obama, I forgot we where talking about the last 8 years and
  17. Goddam right - it sounds EXACTLY like the last 8 years! Not exactly - but close. How quickly some forget. I assume you voted for "Change". Hope you like it. WS
  18. Just curious... The standard iron sights are more than sufficient for shooting trap, skeet, self defense. I have found them to be reliable up to 100 yards. What advantage is there to adding a holographic site or battle sites to a Saiga 12 beyond the cool factor? Not that there is anything wrong with cool. Cool can be good. Seriously. Do you find there is an advantage? Honestly - these things can put so much lead downrange so fast that nothing can outrun or out maneuver them, or withstand the onslaught of firepower. I was just out at the range today - and shredded a 2x4 target stand in no t
  19. Duplicolor satin black high temp engine enamel. Goes on smooth. Dries quickly. Uses the existing paint on your gun as primer. If it gets marred, sand lightly and touch up as needed. At six bucks a can, you can't beat it. Wish they made it in pink. My wife wants a pink S12. Don't ask me why.... she just does. WS
  20. Hmmm... How bout the "Izhvesk Jackhammer" or the "Izhmash Wrecking Ball" or (at the range) "Is that a f*cking AK 47 12 gauge?"
  21. You'll want to remove ALL of the paint from your carrier rails. Use a Dremel or Foredom, or sandpaper in a fine grit to remove the enamel down to the metal on the rails. Smooth out the rails with increasingly finer grades of abrasive. Topping out at 600 to 800 grit should do. You can go finer if you want. Also remove any paint from the feed ramp area, and sand the outside lower edges of the ramp so your shells dont catch on the sharp corners feeding into the chamber. Leaving paint on the rails will interfere with proper cycling. Next time you do a conversion, I recommend masking off t
