  1. the 308 out of a 16" barrel has shown time and time again that accurate shots are more than possible at 1000m. Yall are taking the energy difference thing too far, as the biggest factor is going to be the shooter. 16" is great for the 308. The size and weight of a 21"er with a scope, mount, and full mag, not to mention the horrible OAL of the rifle, and you might as well look into other rifles and calibers if distance and accuracy are what you want.
  2. Awesome! I'm very happy to see this.
  3. Ron is probably not going to be in a hurry for anything, as he is semi retired. As said befoe, he's old school, and probably cringes everytime he sees a tacticool saiga. Used to do very good work, and I have a romanian he built up, absolutely superb example of a kalashnikov, actually stopped by his shop a few times when it was open, and watched the build pocess. I too have one of his triggers, but it is still uninstalled at this point. Bought it from him at a gunshow, as he is at most of them. I hear its similar to an arsenal trigger. He's a gumpy old man, dont expect anything less or more whe
  4. What would you like for it?
  5. Just ordered 1. and an SGL-31-94 also! gonna be a sweet combo!!!!!
  6. Ok, I'm about to do my conversion and I noticed there are about 4 different possibly viable choices. The 2 that interest me te most are the Red Star and the dinzag arsenal 2-stage. Any experience w/ these, looking for ease of install(not as big of a deal) and trigger feel (very big deal, I hate creep). Cleaner break Im assuming would be on the arsenal 2stage vs their single stage. Lemme know what yall think, Yes, I know the tapco trigger, have it on several guns, but wanna know if theres anything better out there.
  7. My TWS gen 2 is now mounted to my s308. I really dont see this thing moving, it is very solid, and well thought out. didnt need to do any final fitting, it mounted right up. IMHO, ultimak can take as long as they want now for the 308, as a better product is out.
  8. Whoa. Dude, chill. I believe we're still in a democratic society w/ rule of law. Enjoy your rifle commando dude.
  9. Pretty much what the title says.....Short of waiting forever to maybe get on the Tromix list, Who does the best and most reputable saiga 'smithing in Texas? I'll be doing a S12 and S308.
  10. What are you talking about, that thing looks awesome! i like the original look......
  11. Yea, I've wondered about the VEPR thing, whether it was a true saiga or a rebadged VEPR. And as far as conversion, I would leave the v21 alone, save for scope mount, as I think it is a very nice rifle on its own. I saw one once and fell in love, but also like the 16 inch. I got a buddy offering me 400 for it tho. Very hard to turn down. On the v21, is the trigger as awful as the regular 308? Just wondering if its the same one, and if it should be traded out for the tapco unit.
  12. That's pretty much it. I dont wanna sell my 16 inch, as I was wanting to convert it, but I really want that v21 308 w/ the thumbhole stock. Should I? I would like both.......but I wanna stay married also! Any opinions on the saiga 308v21???? I know the grip is in the correct position so it's more balanced, anything else?
  13. OK, So I'm going to need a couple of these, what is the paypal/ email????
