  1. It's very possible to do that if you were able to score a H&R ultra slug barrel. They are basically a 10 gauge barrel that's rifled for 12 gauge. Perhaps we can look into something like that - good thinkin' I've been wanting one myself...
  2. Ever since they went from $5 to $15, it brings them into the price rance of converting '74 bakelites, steel & poly mil surp as well as .223 (ducks head....promags). I like 'em, but I don't have enough ammo to fill them all, much less any of the others. (damn nephew)
  3. If you are looking to duplicate the factory finish, use matte & mix it 10:1
  4. Sweet! Thanks for sharing - even pics of the autopsy! Cool you can hunt off bikes, they probably thought you were tourists and were getting ready to attack. At least you were armed, other unsuspecting folks may not have been so lucky.
  5. Thanks guys, glad you like! No I don't plan on offering them on the site. They'd run just over $110 each. ($45x3 mags + $80-$90 labor for 2 - 30's) Kinda steep for 10 more rounds. That's why it's not worth the time to do the S-12 - 10's anymore. $35 + $35 + $40 Those mags I did for Steve were seriously tight inside. Almost to the point I did not want to mess with them. All mine are nice & free. The AGP springs he supplied with them even wouldn't push them. (they are 2x the force in a 20 rounder -vs- the russian 8 round springs) I loaded them up then stripped the rounds out manu
  6. Wow man, that came out pretty slick! Glad he found you a nice match for your buttstock. Thanks for posting pics too Cobra's right on removing the upper HG from the tubes, careful with solid wood, expecially if it's been on there awhile. Get some oil between the spring clip and tube body. Also some oil on the ends where the HG contacts the retainers.
  7. O.K., I'll be the first one... (can't believe no one jumped on this) $400 - Deal? j/k I've seen them sell for $1000 to $1400 Depends on how hungry the buyer is. That's for an original (For LEO Only marked) one.
  8. Yeah, if I could sell a bunch in short order I would pay to have them cast and cut the price in 1/2. Anyone want a few thousand? lol
  9. I think I've written a couple books on breaking taps - live & learn. My worst was when I snapped off a couple exhaust manifold bolts in the wifey's '77 Grand Prix SJ. Fun times, fun times! If anyone else on here has a site I can link to that I missed I can add it. VestGuy & some others who pull the line for our Saigas. Working on BRG3 page & devin as well. Thanks guys, Brian
  10. ...as madmilo gets bombarded with emails...
  11. Correct, it was never designed to...
  12. Thank you everyone, keep those bugs rolling in! Sort of surprized there isn't more... Thanks for your support, maybe one day we can fly the business member flag up top
  13. I'll be a poor man if you don't! Thanks again Macman, you taught me more than I needed to know, now I'm dangerous!
  14. Total time they are not too bad to do, but they take a couple weeks due to my other commitments. Don't be in a hurry if you want them done right. I won't drop test them, just because the duracoat may get marred. I will say with 100% confidence I've never had any come apart on me or anyone else. Springwise, sggrosso sent me some AGP springs for 'em. I would think those stout little puppies would push a 40 rounder. They are pretty rigid. If you have the regular FBMG springs, I think those were borrowed from the factory 8 rounders so I would piece 1 1/2 of those to get some extra force. F
  15. Yes those guides will work in the Saiga - a lot less work if you have a flat-cut trunnion. The advantage I offer with mine is drop-in fit and ability to feed Galil Orlites which used to be cheap.
  16. Nice rifle! Glad the retainer worked out for you...
  17. Web site is launched!!! For any orders or information on my parts, check out the site or email me. The old for-sale page will be taken down so I can keep my parts, pricing & pics current and not have to pester the mods with constant changing. (rip edit button - lol) Let me know if you happen across any bugs... Thank You to all the forum members who've I've had the pleasure of dealing with over the years. Without your support I wouldn't be doing what I'm doing. Too many of you to list. Of all the forums I have participated on, this one is home. Lot's of out of t
  18. Those K-Var AK guides would probably be better served for the flat-cut trunnion rifles, however you will need to do a little fitting. To put in a round trunnion rifle, they require quite a bit more work.
  19. 17x1 will be your best option if you don't have means to turn the barrel...
  20. Here you go - a couple 30 rounders...
  21. We have an old table that's terrible for getting glass rings and spots from oils & moisture. We use old english with good results.
