  2. Hey, I need a short, (1/2" minimum) piece of the shroud that was around the barrel of a 7.62x39 Saiga. Anybody have a piece left from putting on a muzzle brake? I put on a side folder, and i'm having a hell of a time getting my OAL up to 30" (the law here in Cali) without something really strange looking. I tried a 4" barrel extension, but with my FH, it just looked wrong. So, my next plan is to go with an extended AMD-65 style Muzzle brake, but i need a 1/2" piece of shroud to make it all work, as I messed mine all up removing it all the way back to the FSB. It looked real good with
  3. Dinzag is an amazing resource, he answers e-mails quickly, and always goes the extra-mile for Saiga converters. Definitely go to his site, and buy from him. He sells a trigger group with the BHO mods already done, and a trigger job and polishing already done, its worth the extra $10 or so to get that setup, and be done with it forever. As to why change out the FCG? Mainly to stay legal under 922r laws, to have enough US made parts, but also as the previous posters have stated, to put the original AK configuration back in the right place so the gun will operate better, and be better ba
  4. My march 09 came threaded under the shroud, heres a pic of when i cut the shroud off and cleaned them up...it's a 7.62x39...
  5. Yes. use the plate, and get plugs form Dinzag Arms. Look like real rivets, and pop in very tight.
  6. yeah, already did it, didnt use an ACE, but something similar, will post pix when I'm 100% done with it...I got all the wobble out, and it looks better to me than the last stock I had on it.
  7. Lots of bad reviews of IO rifles, like bent barrels, bent gas tubes, clogged up with cosmoline, etc... The ones they are selling in CA, (at Big 5 of all places)and other shops here, the CASAR model, are their old AK-47C models with the "AK_47" ground off, and CASAR stamped on right below it... For $600, you would think they wouldnt have to grind off a model number and stamp on a new one, even for California... Saigas sell here for a lot less than that, and are perfectly legal...I'd go with something else myself...(I have a converted Saiga x39)...
  8. Yes, I'm interested! Sent you a message Sunday, the 29th. Lemme know, please. sounds good, sent you a PM...
  9. Icefire:> Please pony up some cash for the board if your going to be selling stuff. We all had to become contributors to do it, you should as well bro! Sal, I did, it takes a day or so for it to show up in your status as a contributor, but I did, and I am...you will see in a few days..And, I'll post pix of my new side folder...(not Russian exactly, but Russian parts, and IS a skeleton folder, all metal, no plastic, and not an Ace...)
  10. Just saw on the news that the laws are going to PROTECT idiots like this. Its now not against any law to impersonate a former soldier, marine, or sailor. There WAS a law called "The Stolen Valor Act" that made it illegal to wear fake or not earned uniform items, apparently the LAW is unconstitutional because it violates free speech. The right to LIE about military service. I've never been in the military, and would never claim to have been. idiots like that guy make me sick....

  12. I am having this problem on a push-button mechanism I just installed last night on my x39, do ALL the push-buttons really have the slight wiggle or wobble? It DOES bother me, I have tried to adjust it out w the set screw, but no luck....
  13. I am having problems with a look-alike Ace push button folding mechanism (not made by ACE). It has a bit of wiggle while locked open or closed. I played with the set screw, screwing it out to the point where the stock will just lock, (if you screw it out TOO far,, the stock wont lock open), but it still has 'wiggle" or a bit of movement. What am I doing wrong? Its on a x39, and I just installed it last night, havent shot it w that on yet, so its not recoil doing it... P.S. I have it setup to fold to the left... Thanks.
  14. WTS or trade: Tapco T6 Intrafuse stock set for unconverted saiga, with PG, like new, all parts there, has screw holes already drilled, stock can also fit converted saiga if you leave offf PG...$45 plus shipping..cost $65 everywhere else... SOLD, thank you, and I am a contributor now..
  15. I have heard some very bad things about those magazines. They have no metal reinforcements inside and shatter very easily, they seem like overpriced Tapco/pro-mags with a nazi-looking logo on them.... As far as making your own 10/30s, I am under the impression you guys can own "rebuild kits" in CA? If so, you should look into buying some metal 30 round rebuild kits, and then measure the body length and slap two rivets in there so it won't hold more than 10 rounds. Assuming rivets are considered an acceptable block method in your state. Really though, I think you should just look into
  16. Anyone have issues with their Ace push-button mechanism having 'wiggle" after installation? I just bought a different brand push-button mech, (designed after the Ace), and am having some 'wiggle' (slight movement) while locked open or closed. I have played with the 'set screw' a bit, but if I screw it out too far, the stock wont lock open, when I screw it in JUST far enough for the stock to still open, there is still 'wiggle'. Not much, but a bit. Enough to bother me. Now, I am not bothered as much by the 'wiggle' in the folded position, but while open, it should be solid. Ho
  17. Glad ya fixed it, but YES, there are a lot of threads about bullet guide problems. Most are fixed by a lil grinding and filing. MIne on my x39 was hanging up, after I rounded off the leading lip a bit, and filed the top of the screw percetly level to the BG, no more issues that breaking the gun in didnt cure, and no more problems ever, no matter which Mags I use...
  18. My march 09 Saiga WAS threaded under the shroud for the first 5/8 or so, then no threads for 1/4" up to the FSB. Here's a pic of when I dremelled of the FSB... http://forum.saiga-12.com/index.php?app=gallery&module=images&img=2642
  19. I used white china marker pencil, got it hot first, colored it in , then wiped off the excess with Gun oil...worked well on my Saiga... then heard about wite-out, wipe it in, let it dry, and use goo-gone to remove excess....i'm gonna try that next...
  20. or make yer own, go to a site like cc tactical that sells rebuild kits, get some JB weld, and some blocks made by Solar tactical or magazineblock (dot)com (non-sponsor vendor) or parralex tactical, and glue up yer own for way cheaper....
