  1. I just got a brand new CZ P-07 9mm and finally got to take it for a spin. I got through the first few rounds fine, then click. (huh?) I turn the pistol sideways and what do I see? Why yes,a lovely stovepipe. It would do it every 3 or 4 rounds thereafter. Also got a couple double feeds. Needless to say I am PISSED. I guess I just thought it would run like a top right out of the box. Oh well, so much for that, huh? The pistol is completely stock, no upgrades or mods. I did swap the mag release to the opposite side of the frame to accommodate a lefty like myself, but I don't see how that would
  2. The only proper way is condition tactical butterscotch. http://youtu.be/8pU2IOTEZlU?t=36s I've seen a couple of his videos before,he's funny. I like his dry humor.
  3. Now I just need to figure out if I want to keep it in decocker or safety configuration.
  4. Yeah, 9mm is a pretty versatile round. I just thought about something. What about guys who shoot full power 10mm loads in their Glock 20/29 pistols? I know some will switch to a heavier recoil spring, but alot don't, and I've never heard of any issues with them. Is my application really that much different by comparison?
  5. Well, I was thinking of going with 147 gr. for SD , and I figure with the heavier bullet , I'll take all the extra velocity I can get. I guess just +p would be sufficient though. What would you suggest? Maybe a metal frame CZ or a 1911 of some sort?
  6. What are your opinions about shooting a steady diet of +p+ ammo in a poly-framed 9mm? In this case, it would be a CZ P-07 (updated version) Yeah,I know about the issue they had a while back with the frames of the older "duty" model. I think it was about a bad batch of polymer molding or something like that. From what I understand, they have since resolved this issue. Anyway, I've been looking at some of the Underwood +p+ loads and the ballistics are impressive. Naturally, higher pressure loads are going to accelerate wear on any pistol, but should a steady diet of +p+ be reserved for metal
  7. You know if it won't run in an AK, it must really be crap ammo.
  8. I'm looking at a pistol I'm interested in on GB. Condition is "factory new", but it says it has a slight blemish, and it's not able to pass the normal rigorous inspection process, so it's being sold through the "blemish program". The price is less than the same pistol without blemish. Does this sound legit or could the seller be trying to just get rid of it because it's defective in some other way?
  9. Makes you wonder if Kalashnikov wasn't a southpaw himself judging by his design.
  10. I'm looking for a metal frame, compact (not necessarily sub-compact) sa/da pistol in 9mm. I'm really interested in the CZ-75 PCR and CZ P-01, but of course they only come with a right-hand safety/decocker (hey, that's ambidextricist!) and I'm a southpaw. There is the CZ-85, but I don't want a full size. (Why they don't make an 85 compact, I don't know) Then there is the CZ P-07, but I don't want a poly frame. None of my local gun shops carry either of these pistols, so me being able to handle them is a no go at the moment. So, I'm just wondering if there are any lefties here that own pist
  11. He would be considered an "Uncle Tom" by many in the black community.
  12. I know there is supposed to be a little play in the gas piston to prevent it from binding inside the gas tube. However, of the 3 AK pattern guns that I have, each of the gas pistons have different amounts of play. My Arsenal x39 has a significant amount of play, maybe more than I would like, my S-12 has a little play and my Vepr 5.45 has none at all. It hasn't caused any issues with any of them one way or the other, just something I found interesting. I might try and tighten up the gas piston on my x39 though.
  13. Seems like a pretty good deal. Even though it says it's non-corrosive, I think I read somewhere (maybe on here) that the Romanian stuff actually is corrosive. Anybody know for sure? I might buy some anyway.
  14. The PCR is actually smaller than I had originally thought. Judging by pics alone, I figured the barrel was 4-4.5". After looking at the specs though, it's just under 4". (wow!) So,the RAMI with a 3" barrel must be a little bitty thing. I can't seem to find any local gun shops that carry either of them. So,I'm just wondering if there's anyone here who owns both or has at least shot both and which would you choose if you get only one? Obviously, the RAMI wins as far as being more concealable, but how concealable is the PCR? Of course, the PCR has the edge in capacity. Aesthetically, I'd say
  15. I just updated to the latest version of my AV software (Avast) and noticed something interesting in the "Overview" section of the UI. To the right of the e-mail address link that I used to register there is a link called "1471 karma". (What the fudge?!) It does the same thing as clicking the e-mail link, it takes you to where you can log-in to your Avast account. Yes,I clicked it (like a dummy) out of curiosity. I'm not sure if it's always been there or if I'm just now noticing it. Anyone have any idea what that link is? Possible malware? Thanks in advance.
