  1. I got mine a few weeks ago form Atlantic Firearms. Absolutely no problems, straight sights no cant. Awesome gun! I refinished the wood with my (some what) historically correct “Russian Red” shellac finish. I applied one liberal coat of Minwax Mahogany Gel Stain #605 wiped it off, then I lightly sanded some of the stain off using 400 grit sandpaper. Let it dry 24 hours. I then applied 3 coats of Zinsser Bullseye amber shellac vary lightly sanding with 0000 steel wool between coats. Let the shellac dry completely for 3 days then apply wax to protect the shellac finish from water damage. Prepari
  2. Have you considered the EAA Zastava PAP for your Yugo under folder project? There are a few guys around that can do the mag well conversion to accept double stack mags for a small fee. The zastava factory is thee original factory in Yugoslavia/ Serbia that makes the original "Yugo under folder AK's" for the Yugoslavian military. Factory built AK's are definitely worth the extra noise. Unlike USA builds they have things like cold hammer forged barrels and they are correctly assembled. looking info up on them, the saiga seems like a better rifle. Izhmash Saiga and Zastava PAP a

  4. Is there any chance you will be importing the Zastava M70A pistol?
  5. I totally agree with IndyArms. You guys contribute tons of invaluable firearms knowledge to the community. But as of late, all the political stuff gives me a vary unwelcome feeling around here. And I feel reluctant to post. Please keep it in the political and or mall ninja section.
  6. A bolt carrier riding on rails has a lot less friction points then a bolt carrier riding in a tube. Mr. Eugene Stoner, I could of screwed up and still done a better job...
  7. It takes some time to master but gets the job done real quick!
  8. There are hundreds of different AK type rifles imported and sold in the united states from a wide range of countrys, 95% of these different AKs will be fitted with US made TAPCO or other US made triggers in order to meet the US 922R compliance and importation law for regulated foreign made long guns. Note: the Saiga is an AK and is in fact thee original Russian AK, and sets the standard to which the quality of all AK clones are judged by in the US and throughout the world
  9. The Saiga rifle is essentially a neutered AK74. The barrel made for the 7.62x39 Saiga is the same barrel that is installed in the Russian military AK74. Any AK74 FSBs or gas blocks will fit your Saiga's barrel. That being said swapping a gas block only for the benefit of a GP30 lug is no easy task. GBs and FSBs have an extremely tight fit with the barrel, and the swap will require the use of a heavy shop press and you will need to figure out a way to properly support your receiver so you don’t bend your barrel under the stress (been there done that...) On the other hand changing a dimpled or p

  11. You guys think we are going to see a price drop in the near future?
  12. MSAR Inc. filed for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy, and is no longer in business. If you buy an MSAR rifle and have a problem with it, your shit out of luck and jolly well fucked.
  13. You may want to contact Arsenal or Kvar to answer your bolt carrier questions, I remember seeing Saiga only replacement parts on kvars web site. As for the dust cover I currently have east German AK74 covers on both of my Saigas, they fit real tight if they are new but they will fit perfectly
