  1. Agree comparing custom and mass production have no sense, similar to compare Land Rover Defender and Bugatti Veyron. The same is to Molot Arms who updates Molot production in Russia.
  2. Some pics of shotshells reloaded by 0,69 Dia Round Ball Slug Pic of self-made shotshell with roll crimp In the thread about roll crimping, I have a picture of a .690 RB loaded into a new Fiocchi hull and roll crimped. The wad is from BPI, one of their Light Brush Wads and two of their BPGS gas seals. The shell was new and primed with a Fiocchi 616 primer. For reloads, I use Fed. 209A or Win. 209. I do not have the BPI load manual by me right now but I remember using SR7625 for the propellant. That would be in the 26-27 grain area. I have also used 18.5 grains of Red Dot.
  3. I didn't find full data for Lee slugs also (shotshel case/powder/charge/primer/wad/velocity/pressure) similar to Lyman Sabot Slug/Lyman Foster that I got in 5th Edition Lyman Shotshell Reloading Handbook .
  4. Mounting rear sight on standard AK dust cover, IMHO, is noncence, that's why IZMASH guys compleatly redesigned dust cover of their AK-12 where they put internal locking mech of it to the receiver. Maybe Mikhail Kalashnikov was wrong when he placed rear sight to rear sight base and havy optic to sight mount instead of dust cover on his AK? If Government agree to modernization of AK-74 suggested by IZMASH, most AK-74 owned by Russian Army/FSB/Police/Emercom will be look like this AK-74 sent by IZMASH to the Gov tests. The pic of maximal variant AK-74 suggested by IZHMA
  5. I found here http://castboolits.gunloads.com/archive/index.php/t-107180.html the folowing: blaster 02-16-2011, 05:41 PM Inside the wad slugs are usually .680-690". Full bore slugs are generally .735+-" So 69 bullet can fit as well as round ball .690 Dia depend of wad? In Russian market we have wads made by GlavPatron where 0,69 Dia round ball fits, I think it's possible to find similar wads in US. And here http://www.thefirearmsforum.com/showthread.php?p=999346 very interesting thread about usind different caliber slugs on 12 Ga.
  6. RAM S12XC need some adjustment to use on Vepr-12, not very complicated but takes some time.
  7. Foster slug as Lee 1 OZ (fold crimp) and Lyman 475 Grain (roll crimp) desigend for hunting with acceptable accuracy up to 50 yards and Lyman Sabot Slug 525 Gr (fold crimp) is up to 100 yards. For 50 yards Russain guys also use 690 Dia Round Ball Mold from Lee (cheaper) or Lyman (better quality of the mold), round slug is pleased Ito the wad, as Lee 1 OZ, and use fold crimp. Have anybody try to reload 69 Cal Musket Mine Ball from Lyman #68569 (0.685 Dia, 730 Gr) to 12 Ga Shot Shells?
  8. Very interesting thread, where everybody post everything except Vepr-12 pictures Update: for could be, should be, I would like, ect. there are a lot of threads where it must be post! Before post something it's better to read the name of the thread and initial post.
  9. Well look at this Vepr right here. I think this is my favorite of all time. This one is just sick!!!! In Russia for Schmeisser with Molot barrel and Molot Muzzle Brake Compensator you can buy two of these and have extra 500$ for Vepr-K as a bonus.
  10. For this .223 Vepr-15 base on Schmeisser (2400$) is possible to buy almost three standard .223 Vepr-1V (900$), or almost five 7,62x39 Vepr-K (ex Soviet AK/AKM) (500$)
  11. The pic of Vepr 9x19 (VPO-132) for Tanfoglio Mag And Saiga-9 9x19
  12. Some more pic of .223 Rem Vepr-1V (VPO-125-01)
  13. thank you sir. I know, it's not a Vepr Is it the right model? 040-05? I have a wood set for it, does that change the model at all? just out of curiosity? IMHO , nothing to add, even wood set. She (Saiga) is 110% ready 100 % agree to sunnybean
  14. Looks very-very good! Have nothing to add.
  15. Duracoat Bengal Camo looks very good. And some more pics of Bengal Camo for men And one for women
  16. In addition to Cobras pics from the thread Russian magwell installation!!! you can read how to do it at home with pics and drawings on Guns.ru thread in Russian or read in English using Google here.
  17. The cheapest way is to use Duracoat. Vepr-12 could be look like this. Some more pic of Duracoat on Vepr rifles
  18. I'm not Molot representative, as well as I don't involved to their business, but IMHO, for getting aluminum railed dustcover, aluminum or steel magwell, AR-tube adapter, receiver with cross bolt safety, muzzle attachments (chokes, paradox, original GK-01 MBC ), left side charge handle and so on - all these stuff should Molot importer ask to make for US customers and import to US. No order - no parts . US customers should ask Molot importer and their dealers to import such parts to US!
  19. Be interesting to hear more detail. From that, it sounds like the OP is saying it happened from normal firing/operation. If others start cracking too, this could be a huge issue. I hope PapaZ sees this and lets us know if he has seen any such issues on the veprs in Russia. There was some such issues on Russians Veprs also - most cases due to fixed Optics too tight to the rail as well optics was too heavy. Also there was one or several issues with Molot steel rails (placed in early production) - for some Russian guys steel is not strong enough (I don't understand how it's possible,
  20. Pappa says its very easy to grind down the weld so I would assume its just a bit of spot weld at the folding part. If they did the same as on Vepr .223 RPK clone, it will not be difficult , and complete folding mech is included as bonus . I'll hope the importer ordered this option for US guys and don't include Butstock Clamp #3 on Vepr-12 VPO-205 Diagram (Buttstock Clamp is a plate inside the receiver, that interact to Safety and Folding Mech. When safety selector is Up you can fold down the buttstock, when down - could't, when the buttstock is folded down you can not put down safety
  21. Need Dremel and two minutes, to get everything is OK.
  22. I used it two years ago. Use of it cause a lot of malfunction, comparing to buffer with spring:( that have no such problem. I presented it to friend to his Saiga .223.
