  1. I have a GI bring back Russian TT33 , CZ 52 and a Yugo M57 . All are reliable pistols and great shooters . Picked up 5 tins of surplus ammo at a gun show so I'm set for feeding these three for a while . For the money you can't beat the Yugo M57 and feels better in the hand than the CZ . My 2 cents.

    It's Here

Your model SGL-12-02 should have the bolt hold open device that holds the bolt open when pulled back to make it easier to insert a loaded magazine . You Saiga doesn't have the " Last Round Bolt Hold Open " which holds the bolt open after the last shot is fired . These are two different bolt hold open devices .Hope this info helps you figure it out . You should be able to live with the etching on the side . I have three Saiga 12 's and one has the etching and I don't discriminate against it because has a birth mark . LOL
  3. You won't have any problem shooting factory 240gr loads on a normal bases target shooting . Just stay away from the heavy bullet " Bear Loads " in the 328-350 gr range a few different manufacturers have out . These may knock your revolver out of time . I know from personal experience as I had to send a 629 back to S&W for this reason . They fixed it for free with a note saying not to shoot the heavy loads in it any more as they might not fix it free the next time . They new what I did even though I didn't tell them . Just my experience with the Smith's . Never had a problem shooting the
  4. Just thought I'd post a picture of this original TT-33 so the guy can see the difference to his .Now that I bought all this surplus ammo (5 tins) for this TT-33 I just ordered a Yugo M 57 Tokarev to help shoot it . I'll shoot the Russian now and then but because it's collectible I'll blast this Yugo Tokarev most of the time . That is when I get it .
  5. Here's a Russian TT-33 Tokarev I picked up last week . It's a G.I. WWII bring back with all matching numbers including the magazine . Now I need to go out and shoot it . I picked up 5 tins of surplus ammo at the gun show so I'm good to go for ammo . Just thought I'd share a pic .
  6. Go with the military ammo cans with desiccant packs as per yakdung . Pick a size to your liking depending on how much you want to put in it and how heavy you want . The metal military cans hold up better than the lighter plastic aftermarket cans especially in the cold . Try dropping a loaded plastic can in below zero weather and watch it break . My 2 cents .
  7. Confirm on gas plug position settings as listed by CSSSPECS and King of the Hill
  8. I have a RAA IZ-109 with 3 ports and just bought an Arsenal SGL12-03 that also has three ports . No problems with the RAA even with Walmart bulk and haven't shot the new Arsenal yet .
  9. It also helps to freeze the recoil pad especially if it's one of the super soft variety by putting it in the deep freeze before sanding it . You might wanna give it a try as it worked better for me . I take the stock off the gun before freezing it .
  10. I can see it being a brake . I have a hunting rifle with a brake on it that looks similar without the jagged end .
  11. My Promag 12rd drum hangs about 5 1/8 " below the receiver and the 5rd Russian hangs down about 5 1/2 ". fyi
  12. Let me try try this again . I'd go for one or two also.

    Saying "Hey"

Bite the bullet and convert it . You can just paint it for now till you get set up for your Duracoat . I did mine and like it much better . Here's a couple pics with different stocks .
  14. I've been using 2 3/4" Remington ,Federal, and Fiocchi OO buck in my MD20 with the Fiocchi being the cheapest . Haven't found any slugs that will fit yet .
